If you can blame the Chantry for what Anders did, then you can blame mages too since it's because of them the Chantry exists in the first place. They did have a morbid fascination with sacrificing slaves in the past, and still do.

This*

It's seems alot of people like to embrace hypocrisy though, quite sad...really.

Except they aren't condemning a entire population because of the actions of one country.

Oh, you mean the most dominant Empire in the history of Thedas?
It's not condemnation, It's taking necessary precaution.
I am understanding of the fact that reform needs to take place, However, The Circle of Magi is necessary for the safety of all people.

So Tevinter represents all of the mages worldwide now?Don't judge a entire population for what a single country did.

Doesn't stop people from judgeing the chantry for what happened in kirkwall.

I think LOLandStuff was just trying to point out that the "Blame Game" is a bit silly.

It's used to justify the next immoral act about to be taken - which just continues the cycle.

And yet I always hear people use Tevinter as a way to blame all mages for what they did.It goes both ways because the other side also plays the Blame Game.

Your side did it first.

In some ways that situation could've been avoided if Meredith was removed from power. The Chantry could easily stepped in when she started to behave like a tyrant but instead they did nothing.

I'm still wondering why both sides can't be wrong, and why others are going to such great lengths to avoid the fact that both sides are wrong.

At least now we know where it all started. Can't blame that one on Chantry since it didn't exist.
So mages did it to themselves.

I don't play the blame game, it's irrelevant because mages are dangerous no matter who's at fault.

The Chantry was largely at fault for what happen in Kirkwall. They deserve all the judgement that they recieved.

And slavery/foreign kidnappings could be stopped if tevinter would enforce some form of law to ban the practice. The mages could have easily stepped in when their slavers began going into other countries and dragging people off agaisnt their will.

As it stands though, affirmation of their superiority, and a readily avaliable source for their blood magic, are just too tempting for those magibloods to pass up.

Because they would have to admit they can't be right all the time. It's just both groups being stubborn and not willing to concede anything.

Because pro-mages don't want a middle ground.
I'm for finding a solution to both sides. But the lengths pro-mages go to justify the actions of crazed mages is just silly.
Just look at Raijin.

You do realize slavery is everywhere right?Even Orlais has it's own form of slavery so you can't just put it all on Tevinter for not doing anything about it.

Other countries don't set up shop in different lands and territories, kidnap their citizens, and drag them across the seas to be used in some crazy blood mages attemtp to boost their status and power. Tevinter practices the worst slavery and the reason for it is that they gain direct power boost from their slaves deaths and suffering.

I'm for a reformed circle with the templars as a national anti demon police force. That makes me neutral.

True Reznore57, they needed to discuss the rising tension more than anything else and the Divine lost the respect of the Templars and never had the respect of the more extreme Mages (which had the most power among mages)

"F**k the Divine"-Fiona
"The Divine is a fool"- Lambert

lol!

@Reaverwind and Cjones91

Right Reaver, she wanted to make sure no one could oppose a war with the Templars. It was a lot more than just her wanting to cause trouble. Framing Rhys got him on her side as well as Wynne. In the end Adrian, the lying, sneaky, manipulating b**ch got her war. I hope I get to kill her in DA:I.

Pro templar, Pro mages, Pro elves, all of them extremist who don't want a middle ground.

See a pattern here? Anyone whose pro-any one side over the others has long since forsaken the thought of a middle ground. Pretending that's not the case is disengenuous.

That logic is hard to comprehend. The Chantry of Kirkwall had no intentions to play fair for the mages, and allowed a dictator Commander to go on for as long as it did, even as far as to allow her to get involved in the political affairs of the city, and thus prevented the elections of a new Viscount. This has been going on for years, and I find it hard to believe that Elthina was not aware of this nor could of done something about it. After all she was the Boss of the templars in Kirkwall. She could of ordered Cullen to arrest and imprison Meredith if she could, and Cullen would not hesitate but to do exactly what she tells him to do.

Im Pro-Circle.

That's not the same as Pro-Templar or Pro-Mage.
I think both sides do good (and bad) things for society.
