Just because you find it hard to belive, doesn't make it impossible.

Elthina herself said to Hawke that he is overestimating her power. She was a mediator. A nautral party.
Unfortunately both Meredith and Orsino were bonkers.

If Orsino and Meredith were getting out of control Elthina could still be on the neutral party as she could very well send a letter to the Divine asking for assistance from the Seekers to deal with the situation with Meredith and Orsino.

Not only would they deal with Meredith and templars like Alrik and Karras but they can also deal with cunning apostates whos running a mock in the city. It would be that simple.

This.

Yeah. Read Asunder. I actually liked how Justinia was portrayed, and the rest of the book was great too.

But yeah, I relistened to the conversation with Meredith on YT.

I just might skip Stolen throne and the calling just to read Asunder because the suspense from some of you guys are getting me quite execited about what is inside that book.

I always wonder why Meredith never reconsider the option of suicide... after all it was her fault along with her parents that her sister became an Abomination. I could never truly understand why she blames mages for what happen to her sister.

@eluvianix - Meredith stated that her parents believed her sister was fragile and couldn't survive in the Circle.

And then it turned out she wasn't fragile enough to not get possessed and become a killing machine. Go figure. :P

Then again, when a possessed cat can kill 3 templars, it's no real wonder what a mage girl could do.

It seems like she could grown into a powerful mage to have created an abomination so strong.

Not really. The cat wasn't magical, it was a regular cat. But yet Mr. Wiggums managed ot slaughter three trained templars, just by being possessed by a rage demon.

I meant that demons seem to be able to unlock a mages innate abilities, similar to how Connor was so strong even while being young.

I actually have not read the Stolen Throne and The Calling yet either. They are both on my Christmas Reading List. But from what I have heard, from others who have read all 3, many seem to like Asunder the most.

Meredith was a kid when her sister got possessed. Why should she feel guilty for what happened?
And I don't think that she blamed mages for what happened. She blamed magic. The fact that she was an extremistic templar (even before the RL) doesn't mean she blame mages or hated them. For being an extremist and treat people badly you don't have to hate them.

Gaider has improved as a writer over the course of the three books, and yes, Asunder is the best.

Personally, I think it's the best because it's the most relevant to Inquisition.

Hatred isn't quite the right term; it's more like a psychotically abusive sense of obligation. However, that's hardly an improvement over hatred.

True, and since magic is woven into their very lives, her hatred of magic is a hatred of something that these mages cannot change. They cannot choose to be born without magic. It is intrinsic to them, to their very state of being.

Meredith doesn't hate mages, this is true. She herself ways that she actuall feels sorry for them. She considers magic a "cancer." or something like that.

So is this thread still following the OP guidelines?

vHello Templar suppourters

Since the last thread got derailed and locked here is a new
on for the discussion of support for the Templars, ideas on to show their points
in the argument, what type of structure the order should have during the war,
how they should end the war.

If certain people come in and troll and derail this thread I
will report you, there are three other threads for debate this is not one of
them.

She's basically an abusive parent who considers herself loving.

Discussing means of reforming the templars.

This thread has gone off the rails, fell, landed on another rail, went along that for a while, and then jumped the rails again.

Welcome to the free fall.

I'm almost half way done reading Stolen Throne, and when I get done I had plans to read The Calling and then Asunder. all in that direct order.

I've been wanting to abandon Stolen throne, and skip through The Calling just to read Asunder. The suspense is getting to me.

Not if one is interested in discussing anything other than how hard done by mages are and how evit the templars/chantry are. In fact, I'm guessing this it exactly what happened to the first thread. I swear, by the time the game is released, I'm going to be all for gutting mages on sight, lol. ;)

I'm not entirly sure that she feels sorry foer them when she clearly wants to cull all of the mages.

What I don't understand as a Pro-mage like myself is....... Why do I like this charecter so damn much? Why am I fasincated with her? Why do I find her unquie? Why? Why? Why and Why?

She is actually one of my top most favorite NPCs in DA.

First, are you literally only seeing one-half to one-third of the posts ever made on this topic? Because that's certainly not all that's been said.

Second, why allow yourself to be led like that?

She's referencing how the topic needs to be brought up in every thread including ones that are made specifically not to be about that topic.  I certainly would be against the idea of a mage support thread being swarmed by templar supporters talking about how all mages need to be reformed by going the qunari route.

I find her dialogue actually very interesting, particularly as she gets more and more paranoid. I liked her "tyrant" line.

Even still though, that is there right. Just as promages have the right to do a similar thing on the Pro-Templar threads.
