Obviously the templars did a ******-poor job at taking Karl away from Anders since the Gallows are still standing.

What are you talking about? The templars forced Anders to become his best friend former lover executioner. Anders killed Karl out of mercy.

Here, let me explain.
The Gallows didn't explode and there are no dead innocents.

If we are going to keep using extremist elements to justify our views, then I propose we keep the circles as they are because of the blood mage problem in DA2.

Thats precisely the problem and why theirs so many blood mages in Kirkwall.

Meaning... what? Decapitation happens kind of a lot. Heck, before the patch, Hawke frequently exploded people.

I thought we had already extablished only mages are worthy of life and consideration. You're starting to not sound very pro-mage to me.
I might just have to tear your head off and drink your blood. And it will be your fault.

His head was badly attached to his body. He's lucky Anders noticed it sooner or he'd have lost it to a breeze.
Also, Anders wanted some tomato juice.

@Xilizhra: Wait a minute.... WHEN did Ander's rip someone's head off and drink their blood? And how did I miss that....

Just when I didn't think I could despise him any more than I do.

Was this over Sir Pounce A Lot?

No, it was when he was ambushed by templars who'd infiltrated the Grey Wardens in his short story.

In Anders' short story. It's little-known media, like that one story where Gregoir physically abuses a pregnant woman.

I thought only one of them was a Templar?

And that's exactly why the templars got so harsh in Kirkwall.  Its a cycle of violence.

And then his sword is level with my chest, and I let it come, because it is only steel and cannot hurt me, for I am not of mortal men. And when it sinks hilt-deep in my flesh with no reaction, that's when he gives up. He turns and runs, and from behind, I tear his head off at the neck, no magic, just me, whatever that is now. His blood splashes into my open mouth and it tastes like honeyed wine and the warmth spreads through me.

I don't think Hawke enjoys drinking their blood.

I also think its pretty funny that Anders gets away with his actions because "he was abused" but Cullen is not extended the same grace. Despite being tortured for several hours by blood mages and watching his comrades murdered in front of him.

Cullen wanted to be a templar and knew what he was getting himself involved with whereas the mages are being kidnapped from their loving homes to be involuntary sent to the Circle against their will. This will produce a lot of resentments by far.

If cullen could not mentally handle a riot in a professional manner then he needs to find another career path.

Well, I enjoy strangling people with their own blood, so I still don't feel like I can judge.

And there is your problem.

You automatically assume every mage is ripped away from their families kicking and screaming while their parent cry and beg otherwise.  We know that this is not the case.

He's a templar, duuh!!!
He had it coming the moment he joined the organization.
He was just asking for it.

In that same respect he did had coming, especially when he avocates the imprisonment of mages.

@Lord Raijin: Interesting - so, you should be pretty upset that Anders was a coward who fled the Wardens.

You know, it being a choice and all.

If he couldn't handle being a Warden, he shouldn't have joined no matter who asks him.

Didn't Irving go through more or less the same thing and not go crazy?

"Curse whoever insisted the Circle be housed in a tower!"
<~~~Irving took his torture and his abuse like a boss.
