Here are some quotes from Cullen in DA2

(To Hawke, Enemies Among Us[/i], Act I)[/i] "I was at the Circle Tower in Ferelden during the Blight. I saw first hand how templar's trust and leniency can be rewarded. I still have nightmares of Uldred's depravities."

Example: Thrask

(To Hawke, [/i]Enemies Among Us[/i], Act I)[/i] "Mages cannot be treated like people. They are not like you and me. They are weapons. They have the power to light a city on fire in a fit of pique."

Example: "All I want is a pretty girl, a decent meal, and the right to shoot lightning at fools." -Anders

(To Hawke about Meredith, Act I)[/i] "She is not an easy taskmaster. But it is not an easy task. I would not have liked her when I was younger. I thought mages deserved a softer touch. But Meredith is never fooled by a sweet face. She always sees the demon behind it."

Orsino, undercover blood mage
Evelina
Connor
Jowan
Grace

To name a few seemingly innocent mages.

(To Hawke, Act I)[/i] "It used to be that templars were welcomed wherever they went—for defending people from dark magics. Now the townsfolk are as likely to slam their doors as offer us a bed. The image of the poor, chained apprentice is a powerful one. And one the mages are more than willing to exploit."

Example: Pro mage quests in DA2.   Setting up an innocent Templar to get him fired simply because he's good at his job.

(To Hawke about the Tranquil Solution after [/i]Dissent[/i], Act II)[/i] "It's true there has been some discussion of the idea. But as you can see, it has gone no further than that. The Harrowing has served us well enough for centuries. It will be up to mages themselves whether they push us to more stringent measures.

(Hawke asks him, if he approves of [/i]Ser Alrik[/i]'s plan after [/i]Dissent[/i], Act II)[/i] "The Tranquil ritual was created as a mercy so that mages need not be killed out of hand for a threat they might pose. There is an argument to be made for applying it more widely. But the mages have made it clear they view the ritual as no better than death. They want no controls on them at all."

And this makes Cullen intolerant because.....?

That's still not how strangling someone works.

You wern't truly a pro-mage if DA2 was that easy to have changed your point of view.

Or I don't take kindly to people with harsh double standards, moronic analogies to slavery or imprisonment, complete disregard for the extreme dangers posed by mages, etc...

Here, let me explain.
The Gallows didn't explode and there are no dead innocents.

The Gallows may not exploded but was almost slaughtered by a demented Knight-Commander when she nearly begged for a ROA. Anders just took the first move that all.

Nobody disregards the danger posed by mages, most pro mages just want them to be treated like people instead of monsters and I agree with that.

No there is a fair amount of denial going on.  And mages can't be treated like average Joe, or you end up with abominations on every corner.

No big deal. Just blowing up the place, causing damage to nearby buildings, killing bystanders and starting a war. That's all.

And if it were a crazed mundane that burned a Circle tower down would you say all mundanes were like that?Despite what some people here think mundanes and mages are all saints and sinners.

I would like to add something, after nearly an hour of reading to catch up....

When pro-mages, well most of them, focus on the abuses of the templars and how often the templars can and do push mages over the edge, that does not mean that those pro-mages in question are saying it's alright to ignore the mages actions. All it means is that they're focusing their attention on the templars actions and the templars abuse of power.

Trying to spin it by saying, or at least implying 'that because we're not talking about blood mages or Orsino supporting Quentin automatically means we support their actions' is disingenuous and untrue.

Did I not say so with Tahrone? If not, I'll say so now, if you like. Also Decimus, he rather screwed up.

Didn't you say you enjoy strangling people with their own blood, Xil?

What's your point?

Every argument I seen you do is pointing fingers at everyone else but Mages

With the exception of Orsino, which even then isn't saying much

I believe Xil has condemned the actions of mages several times but that's pretty rare.

So how about when Ker Alrik forces mages (Who already passed the Harrowing) to undergo the Rite of Tranqulity so they he can deliberately rape them, and get away with it too because the tranquils no longer can express emotions.

“That's right. Once you're Tranquil, you'll do anything I ask.”

The incident between Helena and Jaken in the gallows.

And you wonder why theirs so many blood mages in Kirkwall.

Also, just wait for Qistina to show up and defend Tarhone. After all, she was just putting demons in templars. You know, harrowing them.

@Lord Raijin: Who says Alrik is innocent? You're going to need to find proof on these forums of the person who defends Alrik's behaviors before I believe it.

But Anders? Ander's has plenty of people who defend his degenerate behaviors.

I wonder why none of those mages pulled an Anders.  Do some healing (Or as you like to say Raijin, a trade), pocket some cash, get in the good graces of the people.  Then just leave that ****-hole when you saved up enough money.
