Battlefield 4 week free game times is the worst thing they could have done.
Just today had a couple matches where low-level players were obviously cheating with wallhacks and aimbots set to maximum, probably just to annoy other people. Bans won't work, as they can easily just create another alternative Origin account and start the whole free week all over again, practically indefinately often for as long as this promotion is running, which means we're potentionally looking at two weeks full of rampant cheating.
I understand they want more customers, but this one appears to have backfired spectaculariy. Not only are players who already own the game plagued by a sudden spike of cheaters, but anyone who uses the promotion to check Bf4 out will get a wrong picture due to the cheating that's not nearly as prominent as the current situation displays.
Someone in the EA marketing division doesn't think his things through.
I'm curious if they will ever slash the prices of ME DLC.

They need to get rid of Bioware Points first honestly, that is the main hurdle right now.
Plants VS Zombies: Garden Warfare is now a part of Game Time (72 hours play from when you start the game the first time)
Origin..... **shudders**
Origin..... **shudders**
It has been improving quite a bit over the last few months, plus it has a lot of things that Steam doesn't:
-The "On The House" Program which gives out a free selection of games that are free forever once you add them.
-I find it much more stable than Steam (Steam crashes on me an average 2-3 times a week)
-The Great Game Guarantee which gives you a full money back refund no questions asked if you are unhappy with a game within 24 hours of play.
-24 hour online support with live people, I've never had a problem with this and frankly it's nice to have a problem solved in 5-10 minutes. Using Steam I had to wait a week just for an automated E-mail response telling me to do things I already tried.
It had a rough start, but then again so did Steam, but it is starting to come into it's own.
I agree that Origin is seemingly improving alot. EA is too thanks in part to Wilson > Riccitiello. I still vastly prefer Steam, but yeah, the competition is great at the moment.
To be honest, I've only used Origin on their exclusive titles such as ME3, BF3, and BF4.
For everything else, I use Steam.
I don't know if this sale is universal but I'm seeing a 70% discount on Titanfall right now for the next 3 days. The deluxe edition is also 60% off.
The base game is only $11.99 if you're in Mexico. ![]()

It's currently 50% off in Canada right now(Deluxe is 40% off), and it's also on Game Time for a free 48 hours.
The game is fun, but it does seem like they're kind of desperate to keep new players coming in on PC with how frequently it's been going on sale.

Steam does give away free games and the games Origin has given away are games I cant imagine anyone paying for in the first place, Origin gave me Peggle for free and Steam gave me Left4dead2 for free. Steam doesn't offer free games all the time but when it does the quality is way better. Plus the sales have been better, more variety and larger discounts than Origin.
Steam has never crashed on me once in the 3-4 years Ive been using it. So that is odd you have weekly issues with it.
The refunds and 24 hour support though are significantly better than Steam.

So far Origin has given out Sims 2(plus all DLC), Peggle, Plants vs Zombies, Battlefield 3, Dead Space, and Wing Commander 3.
I'd say some of those are of pretty solid quality.

Missed Sims 2 and BF3, BF3 is a solid game, but I had that already from my ME3 preorder. No idea about Sims 2. But Peggle and wing commander aren't solid.
Somehow I also got Dead Space 2 and 3 on Origin.
I don't even remember buying them. ![]()
Well, this isn't a BIG sale, but Target is selling EA game cards, with a buy one get the 2nd at 25% off sale. It's basically a 12.5% sale on Origin money.
It's a decent deal for Xbox and PSN cards. It's even better if you have Target's Red Card because you get an additional 5% off.
I don't think there are too many people who will buy EA's game cards, the Target store in my area doesn't even sell them, but I got two $20 PS Store cards for $33 just for the DoA5 DLCs.
The offer is good until October 28, so you have plenty of time to get the game.
If you played and liked Battlefield 4 during free trial weekend, now it's your chace to buy it for only $12.75 on Gamefly.
It's not quite an Origin sale but it's a game that needs to be activated on Origin to play.

Twelve odd bucks is a good price. Game isn't really what it should be, but it's still fun and well worth at least that money even if you are not happy with its current state (which I will emphasize is not bad, just not optimal!).

How entertaining is the campaign?
How entertaining is the campaign?
Campaign is somewhat entertaining. It isn't as much a coherent story as it is a portrayal of how individuals react to something as presented in the Bf4 campaign. The narrative focus is more about individuals reacting to circumstances and group dynamics on a small scale than anything else really.
That said, even that, whilst not badly done, isn't much of a thing. What the Bf3 campaign is, same as the Bf3 campaign was, is one big tech demo to show off how neat Bf4 looks. That it does really good. The campaign will show you some really nice sceneries, but that's pretty much it.
I wouldn't recommend anyone to buy Bf4 just for the singleplayer. In that regard I think even twelve bucks is too much. That money is better spend on a visit to the cinema. If you buy Bf4, you owe it to your wallet to at least try out the multiplayer. That's what the Battlefield series is conceptionalized for and where it truly shines, even when the game itself is not as good as most people playing it would want it to be (then again, we've got a BIG patch coming that hopefully (!!!) resolves most of the glaring issues).
In short:
If you don't plan to play Bf4 for its multiplayer, you can just watch some singleplayer let's play on youtube. The difference between playing the SP and just watching it isn't really that substantial.
