Based on the dragon-esque design elements of the blade and helmet in the above photos, I believe the Inquisitor will be from Nevarra, a place that is home of the Pentaghast family who are known for hunting dragons. Perhaps the player will be related to Cassandra?  I might be thinking too much into this but lets discuss.

They seem interesting. Interesting note is they bury their dead instead of cremate them.

I like the dark hair and darker skin tone they seem to have.

Sounds interesting. I was wondering why the dragon's head on the sword, and what you say, could be the answer.

That actually makes total sense what with all the dragon symbolism. Good call.

Of course, many of us were convinced Hawke had some kind of superpower because of the way he dispatched of the Arishok in the Destiny trailer, and that just ended up being a mage finishing move, the only finishing move that actually made it into the game. AFAIK it was just meaningless visual fluff.

Glad to see people agree. From what I have read, Nevarra seems like a interesting country and it would be nice to learn more about their people.

Same.
OP, While I would like to be Nevarran, I wouldn't want to be related to Cassandra.
I want to romance her with at least one of my Inquisitors if she is a companion.

I think Nevarra is somewhat equal to Spain, so it makes sense. They're the stereotypical inquisitors.

I've heard it bandied about it's like Egypt, but the name doesn't exactly reflect it at least. Navarre was an older name for a large region in Spain (like Aragon and Castille).

edit: I wouldn't mind being related to Cassandra. At least it gives you a cool background already. Fits in with Dragon Age's dragon slayer theme too.

I like the idea. A Neverran Dragonslayer.

The comparison to Egypt was from the way they bury their dead in necropoli. That along with the "Mortalitaxi" mages reminds me more of the Lotus Assassins in the Necropolis in Jade Empire. Pretty neat.

It's kind of a hybrid of Egypt and Spain, I think.

maybe i missed something, but are all Nevarrans descended from the Penteghasts?

(i like the idea btw. It'd make a good reason for Cass to be a starter companion, too.)

That's cool then.

I guess one could say Spain itself has it's own mix of North African heritage too, from the Moors. Not exactly Egypt, but there is some comparison.

No. The Pentaghasts are simply the current and most badass ruling family.

And have been, largely uninterrupted, since 2:46 Glory.

I'm wondering if the game could start out near the Blasted Hills(long, ongoing conflict between Nevarra and Orlais over resources), and then something found there pushes the Inquisition into crusading in Orlais.

Ah, then the PC and Cassandra wouldnt necessarily have to be related than.

i do think it'd be cool for the PC to be a Pentaghast, tho. :o

Sounds good. My theory is starting to sound good. Nevarra borders Orlais, correct?

It's kind of inbetween both Orlais and Tevinter.

I don't see why we couldn't spend time in both Orlais and Nevarra since they share a border.
There's plot potential with their necropolis becoming a time bomb, with the demons rushing to possess all of the corpses.

Thats an interesting find. It could possibly be one of multiple origins for our character, coming from Nevarran.

I'd rather still be Orlesian, the stakes of the Orlesian Civil War become more relevant. Nevarrans have no real stakes in the fate of Orlais considering they're rival nations.

Perhaps they find a side they wish to win the civil war and get involved by supporting said side in exchange for something.

Look like he's a wearing a Seeker ring, so I think typical politics and civil wars are the least of their concerns. This is the Chantry equivalent of a Spectre or Warden.
