An interesting and very plausible theory. I certainly wouldn't mind playing a Nevarran.

Indeed. That said, I'd much rather have the protagonist be from the Anderfels or Tevinter than any other nation.

Well, if the capability to slay dragons is not something genetic but a skill that can be teach, perhaps the protagonist will not be limited in his origins. :)

I like the dark hair and darker skin tone they seem to have.

Same.
OP, While I would like to be Nevarran, I wouldn't want to be related to Cassandra.
I want to romance her with at least one of my Inquisitors if she is a companion.

What's the law on incest in Thedas?  If Cassandra is a second or third cousin, I don't think it will be much of a big deal.  Then again I was all for a Bethany romance in Dragon Age 2.

Meghren and Florian aproves this:D

but yeah Bettani was the only normal human woman what to should be a romance option, and she is a mage...because we not have her we can romance only with Meriil what is the only romance option in DA 2

From the left to the right, the rings belong to the Seekers of Truth, unknown, the Circle of Magi and the Templar.

I'm fine with the PC being nevarran but not with him being related to Cassandra.
You already took Bethany, don't do this to us again, Bioware. Just let us romance Cassandra.

Or, you know, it's the Dragon Age and Dragons seem to be connected to violence.

I personally would not want to related to Cassandra or from her country. D:

...... im going to answer something first before i touch this one....

As for Inquistor being Treventor, no, don't want to fight that stigma all the while dealing with the "crap"

Now as for the quote.... about the age and scars... so what? I mean really, she is a warrior I expect a few scars. Scars can be sexy on women.

Not everyone is after the "pure untouched skin" sort...

Honestly its more about personality than anything for me. Everything else can be "gotten used to"

Yeah I think it could be Nevarra or Tevinter. Would be a change from just being Feralden.

On a side note, does anyone else think it is strange that the guard for the sword is attached to the scabbard and not the hilt?

This.

Bioware, please don't do this to the people who have been wanting to romance Cassandra for such a long time.

Uh... Don't Nevarrans have German accents? Or whatever Cassandra has? I'd rather be Orlesian in that case.

It sounded German to me too. We had a foreign exchange student when I was in high school who lived with us that was from Saxony. Cassandra sounds a LOT like her. Glad someone else heard it -- everyone I've mentioned it to up till now acted like I was crazy. Image IPB

@ OP - the lore does suggest that there are a lot of Pentaghasts running around, so I think you might be on to something. But mostly because it would be a cool way to start out with a realistic level of expertise, connections, and reason to end up starting on a mission (plus easy last name for NPC's to call us, if we can expect that to happen again). The dragon thing is... maybe not the most reliable clue since we see dragon stuff everywhere in the games, and it was a marketing shot for "Dragon Age." :)

Cassandra's accent reminded me of Deanna Troi's accent from Star Trek TNG. Marina Sirtis has an English accent, but said she completely made up Troi's accent to make her sound exotic/alien.

Seriously, Cassandra's accent reminds me of this, and yeah...it's basically ambiguously exotic.

Wait what Cassandra is 40-50 years old? When did this happen...? I thought she was around her mid or late 30's.

You are likely correct, PCK. Gaider said; and TWOT confirms it; that "Dawn of the Seeker" happens in 9:22 Dragon and that Cassandra was considered " young" then. Altough we can't tell for sure how old she was at the time, I'd wager she was, at utmost, in her early twenties. Probrably even younger considering children were expected to take responsabilities a lot sooner in medieval times but let's say twenty.
The World of Thedas places her interrogation of Varric at 9:40 Dragon making her around 38 at the time. A year or two could have passed between DA2's ending and DAI's beginning but she shouldn't be much older than 39-40 years old.
Which, as far as I'm concerned, makes her all the more attractive.

Also, Meredith was HOT!

I'd love a Nevarran protagonist, especially if it comes with a German accent. Having all the sarcastic Inquisitors' quips delivered in the stereotypically somber German accent would be great.

Depends when DAI start, she might be over 40 by then.

I don't know why, but BioWare artists love to draw left-handed characters in concepts, but put right handed ones in-games. All of Cassandra's concept art have has a left handed person from the way she's holding her weapon, but she hold her dagger and sword in her right hand in the trailer.
