Yes you are correct, that is how it works. "Overwrite" is still an appropriate term however as the tech primer is "on top of" the biotic primer and must be detonated first. This is more problematic for some kits than others. With throw, sure tossing 2-3 to get your BE is not big deal, but on say the Krogan Shaman, it is a much bigger problem because shockwave has a much longer cooldown.
Shockwave can have as low as 2.22 'natural' cooldown on krogan adept, know cause I was reegar krobinin last night with warpindiary ammo. Also on AJ she can detonate (all?) powers with bubble on cast then detonate again with a biotic explosion after with her own reave. There is no overwriting powers. And every single biotic character in the game has a way to detonate biotics, and faily quickly as long as rediculous weapons aren't equipped. I frequently do triple explosions on my Human Adept with incendiary ammo equipped
Shoot prime (teamate can explode)
Singularity~warp ~ BE
shoot~warp~FE or w/e overwrites
Singularity detonates causing another biotic explosion.
This takes place all with the shortest recharge timmers.
