Dungeon déjà vu side I enjoyed playing DA 2 and shall probably preorder the CE of DAI. I shall probably preorder ME 4 as well as I have enjoyed all the Bioware games I have played so far.

User reviews border on worthless in most cases. You either have idiot fanboys who give a 10 out of 10 to anything or the troll morons who gives things zeros. Same problem as reading the reactions on BSN. Heck, as dicey as the "pros" can be they are at least marginally more useful than users.
Unlike the caterwauling classes on BSN I rather enjoyed DA2 and didn't have the major pant wetting problems with the ME3 endings like some did.

I´d rather wait for facts regarding gameplay, engine and premise. I don´t need to see through the lense of any idiot around here. I have my own super-idiot vision. thank you.

User Reviews are a terrible way to judge a game, because users are usually gamers with their head full of preconceptions. Metacric's user score is mostly based on people saying that a terrible game is great because it reminded them of their childhood or that a good game is terrible because they had higher expectations or other s**t like that.

It's okay to wait for some decent review, but go look for some great impartial website, don't use idiocracy to decide when to spend your money.

EDIT: I'm with you on waiting for ME3 however. I bought it at Day One and I was happy with it, but a friend of mine played it with all the DLCs installed and the game feels a lot more complete. Even the problems everyone had with the endings didn't even show up for him, since the Citadel DLC + Extended Cut combo basically deleted every bad impressions he could have had at a first sight.

Great topic, it was DA2 that was the deal breaker for me I have never been so bitterly disappointed with a game and for that reason it will take a lot to convince me to make this a day 1 purchase.

However I can't deny I'm super excited about DAI and if their collectors edition was something akin (as far as possible) to something like Ni no Kuni's wizards edition, I'd find it very hard NOT to pre-order a collectors edition of DAI.

Apart from that I'll need to see a TON of demo gameplay and a lot of info re: story, scope and characters before I commit to pre-order or buy on release.

The trailer looks fantastic, the return of Morrigan (and story implications of that) seems fantastic, I am very excited for this game, but not yet convinced. They haven't quite won me back but I'll definitely be watching...

:)

This won't be a pre-order from me, under any condition. I'm not waiting for reviews as much as I'm waiting to see gameplay, information on how the user interacts with the game (GUI, talent system, classes and what changes are made, skills if they return, how combat works, etc).  I'm also interested on seeing how the inevitable DLC will be handled and if there's more Day 1 Debacles (though the DLC strategy won't really factor into a purchase decision).

If it's more of the same DA2 button-mashing idiocy, then I'll pass on this altogether (especially if the Benny Hill Strategem is still a viable tactic, see here for what I mean). If it looks like a compromise between DAO and DA2...then I'm likely to purchase, but not pre-order.

If it's DA2 but with pretty visuals and no blatantly obvious recycled areas, then I'm just done with the franchise.

I will pre-order DA:I. I enjoy Bioware's games and replay them many times. Everyone has their own opinions as to what they will do, but I don't understand all the hate for Bioware right now. Yes, there were things that I didn't like, but the good out weighed the bad for me. But then again, that is why we are given a choice as to what we want to do. To each his own.

Absolutely, this information is exactly what we need to make informed choices. I'm really looking forward to Bioware really going into depth about what the game offers.

Hopefully exciting times ahead.

Another point of view I completely agree with.

Bioware announced that they have learned from their mistakes and that DAI will take the best features of both DAO and DA2. However, the first 2 announces were that we will be limited to play as a human in DAI and that the dialogue will again use the dialogue wheel with the awful paraphrase system. These are for me already 2 of the worst “feature” of DA2.
Because of that I really wondering what Bioware consider to be the best of DAO and I really fear that for them the best of DA2 and DAO is a less rushed DA2 without the recycled area and the wave system. If it is the case the game will be much better than DA2 (and the DA2 liker would love it) but to my point of view it would definitively not be a game that would deserve to be paid full price (and I doubt that Bioware would get back many of the customers disappointed by DA2).

For me it is still “wait and see” and I really want to see the gameplay of the game (I specially want to know if we will have a tactical view like an isometric camera or something similar).

I trust Bioware enough to preorder it. I may even get the collector's edition. They have shown that they put a great deal of work into the game and I love the narratives they create. If DA3 is the worst game ever, I may wait to buy ME4. I would likely still buy it.

Just wanted to point out that waiting on user reviews can be hit or miss if your tastes don't line up with the masses.

If I had listened to what was being said on BSN and other places, I would have probably not gotten DA2 and it is one of my favorite games.

If I had waited and listened to the BSN and other places, I would have saved myself the train wreck that was ME3.

I won't be getting a Collector's Edition with stupid statues or anything dumb like that, but I will pre-order the basic edition of the game. Should a Signature Edition be announced, feature cool extra digital content and be not significantly more expensive than the vanilla release, then I'll get that instead.

Sorry but I just wasn't one of those people who absolutely hated DA2 and everything it stood for or detested ME3's ending(s). Pre-EC the presentation of the ending was weak and Starbrat didn't explain its motivations very well, but I still thought the game was quite strong on the whole.

Post-EC and Leviathan I don't understand the pants-****ting rage still present over the ending. :?

Prior to the Extended Cut and The Citadel of ME3, I would have been eye to eye with you. While I understand and respect your trepedation (and make no mistake, I have concerns too), I think I will end up pre-ordering a collector's edition (maybe Inquisitor's Edition, no?).

I give Bioware credit for attempting to resolve the bigger issues with the ME3 ending. While one could debate how successful they were ad nauseam, I don't think it would be fair to discount the commitment shown to address the problem. They also released tons of free Multiplayer DLC. Excellent stuff, btw. People in the MP forum commented that they would have been willing to pay for at least some of them and were fully prepared to, not begrudgingly.

No, I enjoyed DA2 so I'll be getting this Day 1. It may have been a dissapointment in some areas but nonethless, not enough to take away my enjoyment for the game.

^--- This. So very much this.

Everyone knocking user reviews cause people's tastes are so different...

I'm waiting on user reviews. Not to hear whether or not they like the game, but whether or not the game is complete.

Seeing as DA2 and ME3 were rushed, full of bugs, and missing endings.

I'll wait to hear that DA:I is not that. From people who aren't getting paychecks from the company that makes the game.

If we got gameplay footage from Bioware that looked really good, it would help. Though it will not ensure my pre-order... Nothing will ensure my pre-order at this point.

Easy call.  Despite its flaws, DA2 had so many moments of brilliance that I'll gladly (nay, eagerly!) roll the dice again.

But PUH-leeze, BioWare, get the order process straight.  I pre-ordered DA2 on the very day it became possible to do so, but didn't receive the Signature Edition as promised because, (I was told) I had "...ordered too early, before the decision to send the SE to all pre-orders had been made."  :pinched:

The EA Game Advisor was able to authorize the digital versions of all the DA2/SE goodies, but no black-cover boxed set for me. :(

Firstly, I will try it out, then I will buy it or not (I'm prepared to pay 10$ max, probably some trash bin sale).
