I mean, not generally - the Dalish wander - I get it, but my Warden died to save the land from the Blight and whatnot, so Anora gave Marathari a chunk of land, which was accepted. If Marathari accepted the land, what's she doing in the Free Marches? Are the Dalish incapable of staying in one spot for more than five minutes or something?

Did they go all the way to the Free Marches just because Flemeth asked them to? Even then, it wouldn't necessarily make sense. One of my Wardens let Flemeth go, so I don't see why Flemeth would need to do the whole amulet-thing. Maybe Morrigan found her later and "killed" her?

I derno. I've just been wondering about the suddently Irish and Welsh Dales' presense in the Free Marches. I'm reeeeeally hoping this isn't like importing an Origins save where Leliana died, and then having the decision totally disregarded. I did not enjoy that, and still hope that it's a bug.

Marethari explains it in your first conversation with her. She owed a debt to Flemeth that had to be repaid, and Flemeth tells her to go to Sundermount and wait for the carrier of the amulet, and help Hawke do the ritual. Presumably just after Flemeth helped Hawke reach Gwaren, she went to the dalish to ask for this favour.

We never get to know what was the debt that Marethari owed, just as we don´t know the debt that Stroud had with Anders. Which was quite cheap if you ask me, at least the game should have provided details if it is going to use the owing a favour excuse.

By the way, the amulet thing makes perfect sense even if you spare her in origins, because it is an preemptive measure that Flemeth takes, in case Morrigan convinces the warden to kill her. Note that she says "you may have saved my life", not "you just saved my life". Flemeth takes precautions so that she won´t die even if the warden kill her.

What I don't understand about this, is that at the end of origins, Ashalle is at the ceremony and asks you return with her to tell of the news about the land. Now if you go to DA2 and have Merrill with you when talking to Alistair,as king, she asks him if its true that land was given to the dalish. Wouldn't she have already knew?
Whether the warden just went back and told Lanaya and the other clans or not, Ashalle was there and she knew, who then could go back to the wardens clan and tell them.
