I don't think this topic has been discussed since all the DLC has come out, but in your opinion what were some of the hardest fights in the entire series? Assume Insanity difficulty level.

For me:

1. Collector Ship: God. Damn. I don't have the greatest variety in video games I've played, but I've yet to find a level more soul-crushing than this. The scions in the platforms, the Praetorian while you have husks rushing you and Collectors shooting you. It will be a while before I try to endure that on Insanity again.

2. Garrus Recruitment Mission (ME2): In particular the basement portion. NOt only do you have to push through all those armored vorcha, varren, and krogan, but you also can't take it slow and steady, because you've got Garrus' health acting as a timer. There was also that one damn Vorcha pyro on the one damn corner.

3. Mirror Match: While admittedly fun in the change of pace from standard combat in ME3, the clones wreck you on Insanity, particularly the vanguards. Honestly one of the few hard fights in ME3 singleplayer.

4. Krogan Battlemaster (ME1): This one is hard mainly due to the fact that you tackle it early in the game. You have few powers, crappy weapons, and start out in the middle of a wide-open room. If you don't have Wrex with you to stasis the battlemaster, have fun watching that cutscene over and over again.

5. Object Rho: This one is simply a matter of endurance. You are generally getting shot at enough that you only have time to take a few shots or use one power before you have to take cover to regen shields. And if you can't find a spot that the YMIR mech won't flank, have fun with that. At the very least you don't have to finish the whole fight.

Honorable mention, biggest jump in difficulty from Normal to Insanity: Derelict Reaper. This mission goes from spamming shockwave on husks so you can focus on the scions to having to take down armored husks, making the scions an even bigger problem.

Can't remember the exact events or when they take place

But there was in this one level in me2, I believe I was on normal difficulty and these 2 scrions (?) would not sending shock waves at me, and I remember the level design being honeycomb shaped.

Also those banshee when you fire the rocket.

Thats off the top of my head.

I laughed when I read this. Seriously. I can walk through all 3 games on insanity like its nothing......................then comes Maurader Shields. WTF doesn't even seem to touch it. That made up for some of my most hated gameplay ever.

Needless to say, ME2 rules over the other two games when it comes to tough battle sequences, though ME1's Krogan battlemaster will always be on the list for how tough it was in my very first playthrough.

Horizon in ME2 was a PITA for sure. That Praetorian was a pain to take down with all those damned husks coming from all sides, and the scions with that shockwave of theirs is brutal. I was getting pretty angry at those things, and my controller only made it worse because it kept vibrating with all the damage being inflicted lol.

Had I known what to expect in the Collector ship, I would've brought something better than the particle beam. I make sure to bring the M-920 Cain everywhere now, as my special occasion party favor, because running around that horrifying locked room with the Praetorian and abominations makes me question why Shepard didn't have any crazy nightmares about this instead.

Damn that Vorcha pyro. It took me a while to get past him, since every time I climbed over that obstacle, I hardly had any time to get a shot off without him incapacitating me with that damn flamethrower.

Marauder Shields on insanity is crazy hard, but I like to consider how hard everything is on normal difficulty. He was not the most fearsome part of that sequence though. The husks that climb up near the beam are strangely terrifying because you spent your entire campaign mowing through them, and the last time husks were truly hazardous up close was in Mass Effect 1, when they swarmed you in the mine in the Hades Gamma cluster. On normal difficulty, they get pretty damn close to you while you try to take them out.

ME2 Kasumi's loyalty mission with a low level vanguard. God that was painful and all because I wanted the locust and flashbangs asap.

ME3 The end of the London in the area where you have to arm the missiles and end up with endless spawns. Playing as an engineer and still can't keep those banshees distracted enough to take them out.

ME2 the last area of Horizon where you have 2 scions and a ton of husks (before the praetorian shows up ) as an adept. That was a strugglefest.

Everything sort of becomes easy in ME3 for me with old school Bioware tactical pausing, and Carnage. Or using EDI's Defense Boost skill. Either/or.

Might have to say overall Garrus' rescue in ME2.

Hmm, I tend to do Feros before Therum. So I'm leveled up a bit. Perhaps if you're eager to get liara, it's worse.

Yeah, I always do Therum before Feros or Noveria.  I guess I'm kind of shooting myself in the foot, but I do it anyway, for Liara.

Clone Shep on insanity was pretty annoying, the bastard runs up and shots you in the face forcing you to leave cover and flail into the arms of Brooks and other mooks.

Dr Eva with a Paladin or Scorpion.

Aside from that, definitely Mirror Match. I breezed through insanity in all three games and I've only managed to get past the first wave once.

Found a new meaning of pain with this fight recently.

Swapped from xbox to pc and now barely know the buttons....insanity is that much more idiotic now.

Clone shep fight in citadel DLC

Getting the "one and only" achievement in armax arena (spectre mirror match).

These two fights make you realize just how bad the regular ass mooks you faced all the time before had it when they see you coming.

I'll throw in the 1st sequence in the citadel DLC for a sentinel Shepard.

I think the N7: Eclipse Smuggling Depot (with 18+ containers left) on insanity is quite difficult. That is, without running down the hill with a charging Cain.

Actually, you can "cheat" this...there's a way to glitch it so that the mechs comes toward you WITHOUT triggering the timer or them destroying the barrels...

1) Benezia
2) Krogan Battlemaster
3) Final fight on Horizon
4) Collector ship, same as number 3)
5) Would be Kai Leng at the end, simply because of the battleground and his palm gun.
Crappy battlegrounds and stupid Bosses make for hard enough fights, I learned this the hard in Alpha Protocol.

The Krogan Battlemaster on Therum. Nothing else even comes close.

Benezia is hard on any difficulty, that automatically makes her the hardest.
