Greetings all!
I've looked in the fora for a really simple (read: Simplistic for tech-idiots such as me) guide to using Gibbed to change around who lived in ME1: Ashley or Alenko. Would someone be so kind as to help me out here please? I've looked at Gibbed til I am cross-eyed and I just don't understand it. Sorry . . . too many years of teaching English to people who didn't want to learn it.
Thank you very much in advance. I really appreciate any help I am offered.
Using Gibbed to change Kaiden/Ashley

No one knows or is willing to lend a hand? Sigh. I've read through the Gibbed guide and it says that I need to change a flag, and I did that. It also said I have to import the saved game as a NEW import, and I've been trying to do that, but it won't see the game I've made changes in as a different game. Whenever I try to start a game with it, it tells me that Ashley died. I played through with Kaiden (through ME3 I mean) and he's just SUCH A WHINY ****! LOL
So . . . for my sanity if for nothing else . . . PLEASE help me out!! Thank you!

This may take some monkeying around but it has worked for me in the past.
- Start a new game in Mass effect. Set up your Character etc. the way you want to play the game.
- Play the game far enough so you can do a save.
- Quit Mass Effect. Can skip these steps if you already have a Game save you can Mod. Might want to Go into ME2 and verify that you can do a new game, import ME2 character for the save your modifying. For some reason it doesn't recognize all my careers as importable.
- Open Gibbed's ME2 Save Game Editor. I usually do this as the administrator. Someteimes otherwise gives me problems saving the game.
- Open the game you saved in the ME2 game you in Gibbed.
- Select Plot Tab/Select Mass Effect 1 Tab/Select Flags Tab
- Many flags for telling ME 2 how ME 1 was played. Go through and select what you want. To get some plot information go to any web site with a walkthrough, I like http://masseffect.wi...ass_Effect_Wiki
- I've never tried it, but I recommend against setting contradictory flags. Don't have Ashley and Shepard kill Wrex.
- Save the Game with modifications.
- Exit Gibbed
- Start ME 2
- Start a new game Select "Import ME2 Character"
- Select the modified save you created in Gibbed to import.
- Follow Directions
- Good Luck

Hey Trahbin,
Thanks for the reply all that time ago. LOL I've tried and tried to get my ME2 to import a "just-started" ME1 game, but no joy. Do you, or does anyone, have ANY idea at what point I can import an ME1 game into ME2 in order to do some hefty modding with Gibbed please? As much as I LOVE Mass Effect, I don't want to play through #1 again only to get to #2 and #3. Ever since the last DLC came out, I've been replaying the #s 2 and 3 (3 especially) on every difficulty in every class with both genders to have a 100% Mass Effect experience.
Thank you.
