I am killing time at work and thought I would give making a world map a go.  Problem is I cannot find what size the map needs to be.  The Wiki tutorial tells you how to import the map but not what the dimensions need to be.

Anyway can someone help me out?

Terrain maps can be any size I believe.. Anything over 512x512 is prolly not recommended from what I hear.. But I have heard of maps that are 256x128 for example..

I believe the OP was talking about the 'world map', with map pins and stuff. On the map tutorial, that I haven't looked at in months, I recall a standard size of 1024 x 768, and it needs to be in the .tga format.

lol, might not be part of the tut. I spent like 4 days digging for info, while trying to learn how to use paint.net to view/convert the map I wanted to use. I still haven't actually got that into my mod yet, but it's ready once I get there.
