Not being Shepard 2.0 or like Shepard is a good thing. I'll take my snarky sleezy mage Hawke over drama Shepard anyday thanks.FaWa wrote...

"Worried" isn't the right word.
Better options:
Hopeful
Wishing
Praying that
I get DA 2 was not a favorite amongst fans, but why the Hawke hate?

Shepard 2.0
Bioware needs to stop trying to remake Shepard. It won't happen. Hawke was extremely frustrating to play as. I'll admit a big part of that was the diaologue wheel.
Also I want no remnants of DA2 in DAI
Who else is worried Hawke is dead?

I think the point was that the game tried to sell Hawke as Shepard 2.0. In DA2 everyone is constantly telling you what a great person you are who really gets things done and everyone naturally follows you and blah blah blah. Which was weird because basically Hawke was just a lazy mercenary even if you try to be heroic.
Pretty much this.

Hawke was a lousy protagonist, I would be kinda relieved if she was dead so she isn't around to stuff things up further or stand around like a gormless idiot while people do stupid sh!t in front of her.
Maybe the war makes Hawke better and less an Idiot

Considering all the crap that went down throughout the acts I doubt it. She continues to act moronic even after the Chantry goes kaboom.

Dead? He faked his death to run away with Merrill.
You know, I actually wouldn't mind that. My Hawke was sort of a heroic sort, but I think that finale was enough to make anyone declare "Enough of this s**t" and disappear somewhere. With Merrill, of course.

There is a point in the preview where Varric touches somebody's body and looks sad. I am really concerned it might be Hawke, really hoping it isn't.I liked Hawke, I know in some circles people hated Hawke as a protaganist but I loved my sarcastic rogue Hawke. Do you think it is Hawke or who do you think it might be? Or do you hope it's Hawke?
Why do people assume it's Hawke when the body actually looked quite small? It could be a dwarf child for all we know. Just because Varric is sad, doesn't mean he gets all emotional for Hawke only. I'm 100% sure it's not Hawke as evident by just looking at the small sized body.

Now I fear Hawke will have a bridge dropped on him/her just for some emotionally manipulative drama.

Maybe we'll see Flemeth/Morrigan, Hawke, and the Warden each offer the Inquisitor a single choice that determines the fate of all Thedas regardless of what they did before and ignoring all the prior choices in all three games. This triad will call itself the Catalyst of Thedas

If they let him die, I think, it will be like e.g. Legion, or Thane as the more pointless approach.

Destroy all darkspawn.
Control all darkspawn.
Fuse everything into one race.
And all magic disappear from Thedas no matter what.
Secret refuse ending Anders/justice explodes everybody dies.
On topic . I am not worried, my Hawke sailing with isabella until Bioware say they not.
