If they tried to make Hawke like SHepard, Hawke would have been able to persuade everyone, have sex with everyone, whine and cry about naything and be a big drama queen. Hawke does not do this.FaWa wrote...

Not being Shepard 2.0 or like Shepard is a good thing. I'll take my snarky sleezy mage Hawke over drama Shepard anyday thanks.FaWa wrote...

I get DA 2 was not a favorite amongst fans, but why the Hawke hate?
He (/she)
Is
Not
Shepard 2.0
Bioware needs to stop trying to remake Shepard. It won't happen. Hawke was extremely frustrating to play as. I'll admit a big part of that was the diaologue wheel.
Also I want no remnants of DA2 in DAI
What Im saying is that they tried to hard to make him Shepard.
I'll take Hawke over Shepard anyday. Shepard was just a big drama queen.

That would still be better than the way Bioware killed off Emily Wong.eroeru wrote...

My Warden is already dead, and Hawke was a bloodthirsty blood mage. She wouldn't last 10 seconds in this war, I imagine half the Templars in Thedas are tracking her. I don't want her to have a happy ending because it would be entirely unrealistic. I want the *choice* of saying my Hawke is dead, and actually meaning it.
I can see, however, that both the Warden and Hawke are going to get forced into this plot device of Flementh and apparently must unite to save Thedas.
My Hawke doesn't want to save Thedas. She wants to watch it burn. >.>

I doubt it, and in fact I strongly suspect Varric's just saying goodbye to some anonymous battlefield comrade, and Bioware purposefully put it in the trailer in the way they did to fuel speculation and worry re: Hawke's fate and get people talking.
They're sneaky like that, you see.

Killing Hawke would be a smart move going forward. With a dead Hawke all of Hawke's love interests are free to move on and do other things (none of that Leliana/Alistar/Zevran wouldn't behave like that, complaints for them. They'll be living their lives with a dead love in the past.)
It also means we won't get "My Hawke wouldn't do that!" complaints either. Hawke's actions are clearly defined and over. They're entirely historical in-game. And can be easily referenced via save game import. So Hawke ONLY did what your Hawke did.
It's really smart moving forward.

I personally think that the corpse will depend on how you played the game. As like a load previous game deal. That shrouded corpse could be anybody! But who's to say it doesn't change depending on what you did?

There is a point in the preview where Varric touches somebody's body and looks sad. I am really concerned it might be Hawke, really hoping it isn't.I liked Hawke, I know in some circles people hated Hawke as a protaganist but I loved my sarcastic rogue Hawke. Do you think it is Hawke or who do you think it might be? Or do you hope it's Hawke?
Don't believe the rumors. Varric was NOT reacting to the body like he knew the person. He was reacting to the death and destruction. Thats all that scene meant to convey and thats it.

Because think about it...wouldn't his reaction be much stronger than just a quick sigh if his best friend was obscured, probably tortured, and then murdered?

I don't know if you'll agree with me, but I found him more likable than the Warden. The Warden was a lamp-post.
