I don't give a damn about a normal person if he is dumb, selfish, powerless, hardly relevant to the plot. Yep.

That's what i'm saying. The protagonist of the game can't be a normal person than makes mistakes. The protagonist has to be perfect, a godlike being, like Shepard.

Not really. This isn't about being a god, perfect, without mistakes.

And, I find  this " normal person " idea really stupid to be honest. We are talking about extraordinary events that could change the world. This isn't an ordinary poor guy, with no real intelligence and no real strenght, hardly relevant that will respond to changes and extraordinary events.

I always laugh when some people are saying, but Hawk was a normal person as if that was the best idea evar.

I'm actually saying that it isn't a good idea, precisely for what you said. The protagonist is supposed to be someone "special", the only one that can save the world and stuff.

I didn't know if you were sarcastic or not.  I don't think players want a god. The protagonist can make mistakes and he doesn't need to be " the chosen one ". That said, he must be competent with extraordinary abilities, so he can effectively respond to extraordinary events sweeping the world.

I thought Hawke was awful - like people said just a Shepard Mark II.

Then I played a sarcastic female, the VA nailed the character and both the character and the game were considerably better.

I honestly don't care if it is true. While I don't dislike Hawke as a protagonist at all, their story is over now. Time for a new protagonist to shine!

I'm amazed there are so many Hawke haters. Maybe if you had played him/her differently you wouldn't have had such a bad opinion. I liked my Hawke, probably even better than my Warden.

There is no point in playing Hawke differently he/she is complete garbage and nothing will change that.

My Question is Mage Hawke in a city full of Templars and very strict Knight Commander do not see Mage Hawke as an Apostate Mage or why they would even listen to him/her in the first place. Always puzzled me when playing DA2!

While Hawke may not be my Dalish Elf or my Alienage Rogue Elf or my Mage Elf <One might think I like playing an Elf> Hawke has a place as Champion of Kirkwall in the upcoming War and I expect to see some point where our Hawkes come into the fray either Helping the Templars or the Mages.

I never got the Sebastion DLC so I can't ****** him off if I spare Anders so I expect to see some mention of Anders in the next Dragon Age.

I love all my Hawkes, hoping that they will be able to find happines and a good long life. Hmm.... but that trailer seems to be indicating that things in Thedas are not exactly peaceful. We will see what happens.

If I recall the original reason was that Leandra was an Amell, a noble family in Kirkwall, before she married Hawke's father and wanted to go to Kirkwall because it's far away from Fereldan and that her family could hide Bethany and Hawke in Kirkwall if he/she is a mage.

Once they arrived at Kirkwall and found out that Leandra's parents were dead and that Gamlen wasted the entire family fortune, The surviving Hawke sibling didn't want to keep on traveling and putting more stress on their mother if you suggest leaving Kirkwall.

After the year in Kirkwall to pay off the smugglers or mercenaries, it was pretty much earning money to avoid Templar scrutiny and this is a guess here but since they didn't have any money to travel, there was no point in owing someone else money or more years of service, just so they can leave.

After that, the family has pretty much put down roots in Kirkwall, and has friends there.  Then Hawke became the Champion and was pretty much immune to Templar persecution if Hawke is a mage or Bethany/Carver were with the Circle/Templars.  And if Bethany was a Grey Warden, then Hawke had no reason to leave Kirkwall after that since he/she didn't have a mage sibling and they got the Amell family estate back.

I am more hopeful that the Maker answered my prayers that he is rotting in some ditch not far from Kirkwall.Spent ten years to become nobility, and he done goofed.

I don't think the person in the body bag was Hawke. I think it was just a general "war is horrible" scene with a random body.
I doubt Bioware would kill Hawke or the Warden.

Doubt it was Hawke, Don't know if Hawke or the Warden will be in DA 3 beyond the occasional mention. Doubt they will kill off the previous game's protagainist unless it was in a big story shifting way. Also I don't get the Hawke hate either. Some people just hate everything

There is a point in the preview where Varric touches somebody's body and looks sad. I am really concerned it might be Hawke, really hoping it isn't. Image IPB   I liked Hawke, I know in some circles people hated Hawke as a protaganist but I loved my sarcastic rogue Hawke. Do you think it is Hawke or who do you think it might be? Or do you hope it's Hawke?

I highly doubt that it is Hawke. I think that having Varric upset they were trying to convey emotion of death and destruction towards the audience.

I didn't spend all that time playing Dragon Age 2 to have Hawke killed offscreen to sate a bunch of bitter people who hated Dragon Age 2. Honestly, I prefer Hawke over cardboard cutout super hero Warden. And honestly, I feel like the Warden's story actually ended. Whereas Hawke was left hanging in a murky non ending.

Truth be told, it's going to be extremely difficult to bring the Warden back in any sense anyway. So, I've made peace with my Warden riding off into the sunset. Stopped a Blight, went on his calling, and that's that. But Hawke still has mileage, and I think it would be foolish not to use the character in some form. I would like to believe Cassandra was looking for him for a reason. Hawke being a supporting character would actually be extremely interesting, if they can find a way to port the character, both appearance and dominant personality type into the game. (Snarky, noble, or aggressive. )

This new "I hate Hawke and want him/her dead" stuff is just short-sighted, unimaginative trolling.

On the other hand, if you're going to kill the character, at least make it memorable. Otherwise, you basically admit that Dragon Age 2 was a waste of time. And that would really irritate me. In fact, it would be a complete deal breaker. You would essentially be saying, "Everything you did in DA 2 was going to happen anyway, and you basically wasted your time playing it." Not exactly a way to instill good will in your fanbase.

Yeah, I'm Ok with them killing off Hawke if that's what works best for their story. I'd be much more pissed if they polished off Fenris or Isabela because I felt more attached to those characters than any of my Hawkes. However really even if they did kill off one of my personal favourites so long as I got the requisite emotional kick (you know rage/angst/desire to slaughter all responsible NPCs) then I'm down with it anyway. So from my perspective the writers are free to slaughter away without fear of fan rage retribution from my quarter. Hawkes, Wardens whatever their story's done.

Oh except for Alistair - I love him. Leave Alistair ALONE!

I don't hate my hawke, but I wouldn't be upset if he dies or is already dead. I want him to have an end. I can pretend he is roaming thedas with his love interest, but that's a poor ending. Not to mention that my hawke can't just trip around when the world is falling apart with the mages vs templars war.
With the warden it's easier, since he has always something secret to do and has good reasons to not be seen again. But hawke hasn't a place to fit in. He could be the viscount, but no, he just disappear without a reason.

What, a too simple solution?

Agreed, Hawke was such a momumental stuff-up even showing Hawke being competent wouldn't erase the lousy faux-hero she was before.
