To the PS3 Community: What were your experiences the last couple of days, is it just me or is it getting worse? It seems that every 2nd or 3rd game vs Collectors locks up my PS3! The last time it happened to me, was when I tried to solo Thunderdome just for myself and for fun, I got disconnected at wave 9 after losing lot's of my medigels and missiles. Now that's not the bad thing as I have plenty of consumables and credits, but I was so close to achieve this challenge for myself. I don't have to tell you how much that sucks.  And my second question to the PS3 guys is: Has anybody in this forum a good tip to me how to avoid that in future? I tried to rebuild database many times, as described somewhere else in this forum, but unfortunately it didn't work out for me  Any other things I could try that maybe helped you get rid of this freezes? Looking forward to many "Working as intended" and "don't play Collectors then" messages.  No seriously, any help or knowledge sharing of yours would be greatly appreciated as I like to play against the Collectors - especially on Gold and Platinum.

It's not worth ruining your PS3 with multiple hard freezes.

First game after a reboot usually means you can go through one game against Collectors without freezing, but it's not 100% guaranteed. Collectors on Gold actually has more chances to freeze than on Platinum, FWIW.

I have to say I am fine. No freezing for past 2-3 weeks.
Although frame skip is overall getting worse everyday.

Playing against Collectors on Gold or Platinum is risky for PS3 players.

I was on ps3 but switched to pc cuz of issues above.

Mind you, pc does a quite a bit of wired stuff too so no platform is completely stable.

The ps3 issues might be related to Unreal Engine supporting this platform much later than pc/xbox so PS3 build of the game being inherently more unstable. I don't think it's likely that the freezes get better / worse.

Best advice: Switch to pc. I'm spending much less time waiting for the game to load too so if things go wrong I can start again quicker.

Reboot after every collector match!! Doesn't get rid of the freezing altogether but does lessen the chance of it happening. And reboot after every few matches anyways.

Seriously, after reading this, it boggles the mind how people still don´t migrate to PC...

Yh, Thunderdome is pretty safe if you've just rebooted. If doing a duo, both must reboot. 

Now.. how not to get devices/targets on wave 10 is a different matter entirely.. <_<

Me and Pint had a case of [Snap Freeze] Killstreak 3 +10000 to our PS3s from a Thunderdome match only midway through.

Later on with Mermaid, Panda, and goldenslayer, only Panda froze on the dreadful wave 8.

Honestly, I don't seem to encounter this as much as my friends do. But I still do a PS3 reboot after a) two Hazard maps have been played or after a Collector match.

It may be superstitious malarkey, but seems to be working so far.

My last two freezes were not even against Collectors, or on the infamous hazard maps. Gr1ng0 is right, it has to do with the s****y coding for the PS3, it's a shame this game put the system in such a bad light. Best advice is just avoid Collectors, H.Ghost and H.Giant, but like I said in my case, even that didn't help. I'm building my PC right now, can't wait to put all this console BS behind me.

Simple : DO NOT fight Collectors. Is it worth screwing up your console just to fight a terribly coded enemy?

Reboot after every Collector match, that should help you avoid most freezes. It's a crappy solution and doesn't actually work 100% of the time but it's that or never play against Collectors.

I'm looking into building myself a peecee this summer. Too many games that can't be played on a Mac, and share my console with too many people to play when I have the time for myself.

What kind of build are you looking at? A complete build, or anything preassembled? I'm trying to figure out what I want to do. I'm thinking about dropping the extra cash for most of it prebuilt, then just adding a GTX 680 myself.
