Nah, its not your choice of words. It is your blatant lying in attempts to bolster the authority of your statements. You didn't know how your lies would be obvious from your n7hq.
Read your destroyer thread and i noticed several vets took your lies apart there as well :P

LOL

To the OP:
Too much rhetoric when the simple point is its pretty hard to take your opinion on gold seriously when you seem to have a rather limited experience playing that difficulty.

On Topic:
By my experience, a lot of gold random players seem to be playing a difficulty they are simply not prepared for and are just hoping to get carried to easy credits. Sometimes its like they are more than happy being deadweights as long as they get the cash even to the detriment of the experience of their squadmates who are really trying. Not using medigel, joining gold games without gels or rockets, not helping with objectives, not putting on equipment even level 1s etc.

On the flipside, I have met a lot of awesome players while pugging and I do like the "randomness" they add to the game when playing. I don't hate pugs but I do dislike the attitude of the majority of them though.

I like PUGs because they give me a little bit of a challenge and typically about once or twice a week someone will get on their mic and tell me something that makes me feel good (like good job or whatever) - and that makes me feel good about playing this game. I like positive feedback for helping out people (especially when I'm the only one alive). So what about score - it is just a game. So what if everyone came in wave 3. I'm having fun. That is what matters to me.

i've got no issue with "casual" players.
but even they know where the medigel button is. that said, if their N7 is low enough i assume they only have 2 of them. but, ya know, using at least ONE would be nice...

I don't really care, but then again I don't have to.

Unless it's PUG platinum on euro host, in which case OnlyUseMeInfil/Nades/iFrames

Some of them start the game blindly hoping random player to drop in and carry them.
I cannot hate them enough.

50% of the time it`s pretty fine.
30% of the time it`s usually two men`s game.
20% of the time it`s leeching fest.

at least it's good to know that silver and bronze are still the most popular difficulties then. Doesn't make the ones leeching in gold/platinum exempt from any hate though............

PUGs are capable of doing the unexplainable. They can take a Juggernaut and die to a swarmer. Basically if PUGs cannot break the unbreakable, they will chit on it.

Here we go talking about immersion again. It's a game about war, why the hell wouldn't you nuke anything?

Sweet. We got confirmation missile glitching ends the war!!!

Might as well use classes, start a lobby, each with 10 rockets, be done with it.

QFT

Most PUG games are a fun gamble, because who knows what you are going to get?

Luckily, it has been rare to drop into already started games with total leechers. Alot of times you will be in the lobby and you can't tell whether the others are leechers or not.

I've learned my lesson the hard way however, if all the other players are being %100 leechers (all players bleeding out on objective waves), then I won't use any consumables, and if/when I go down, the match ends ...

Last match I played was on Friday and that happened, all 3 players went down and bled out on wave 3 and wave 6 (as well as wave 5) .. both were delivery objectives. While I was delivering the packages, they all bled out ... damn. So on the second package of wave 6, I brought the package to the edge of the return area and waited for an enemy unit to take me down w/o delivering, then bled out.

Now this is not typically my preferred style, but screw em .. I don't need the creds that bad (at least not as bad as them, looking at their loadouts in lobby). If any one of them had used 1 med-gel at any point, I would have continued on and carried them to wave 10 credits. That's all I ask for, i'll carry people (I don't give a damn about their scores) as long as they put in an honest effort

rant over

My word hardly counts as confirmation. By the way, I have it on good authority that one well placed missile can save a game. :wizard:

Tell me about it. Just got done doing a match with a guy who kept using his missles, another teammate who cursed him out in Spanish and kept dying, and not only that but we had an objective where we were supposed to retrieve a package, and my teammate just stood there with the package going back and forth, shooting the rest of the team. Talk about unexplainable events.

If i hosted the game, and see that people only care about the points... I wish never meet them again in game, because i care only for fun now.

No operations, so only clear fun...

I understand that. I only play for fun and rarely care if I come in first or last for that matter. It's just a game anyways.

I mainly hate pugs because of the traditional reasons. No equipping consumables/gear, not using missiles/gel, going into gold with little to no gel/rockets. Basically if I have to end up doing all the work and no one else pulls their weight or screws up the spawns, I'll rage but I won't send them a message about it. Whenever I have done that, it has always backfired for whatever reason. So I have to rely on the hope that they catch their mistake and realize I'm not gonna carry their asses every time. Most of the time it's people who want the higher credits instead of taking the time to actually learn the mechanics of the game, enemy patterns, and building their manifest. I have been running into these people too often and usually they're on a difficulty they're not ready for.

Another thing that's not a big help for people when the first get the game and install all the dlc is that the default quick match search is on collector/platinum (forgot what the map default is but I know the enemy and difficulty).

I wish a second decent player was a guarantee. Repeatedly carrying people that shouldn't be on Gold is quite frustrating. You have that second person it's not a big deal because the game doesn't feel like a chore, without them man I have to turn the game off for a bit after 2 or 3 bad PUGs.

OP, thanks for the chuckle.

I'll join the rest and say, your opinion about gold pugs is very unaccurate given your experience. That you have managed to extract on gold 9 times means nothing.

Seriously. Nothing.

You can't come here and say gold pugs are good because most of the times the team gets to extraction when you have extracted only 9 times. No one will buy that. Your whole point is operating under a false premise and the people on BSN have their daily dose of laughter and happiness unmasking people who think they know what they're talking about when they don't.

That's about it. Yes, it is just a game. Yes, you're entitled to your opinion. And yes, this has turned into a personal flaming thing. Because you're telling people who have played literally hundreds --or thousands-- of gold matches something that is untrue, something that cannot be proved or known in just 9 games.

Does the name Cassandra S. ring any bells, anyone?

On topic, I know how frustrating it can be to pug gold, but I know for sure how bad playing with capable people can be in the long run, so I don't hate pugs. Not anymore.
