Xbox One. I got it earlier this year and it's quite nice. Don't like some of the stupid changes they made to the OS but it plays games wonderfully.

On a related topic, how many of the PC users are going to need to upgrade?

Playing DA game on console is an insult!
Of course gonna cost a lot more to upgrade my PC than simply buying a console.

Probably the PS4. Making the move over from the Xbox 360 I think, although I'm going to end up with both eventually.
I could never get into playing RPGs on PC, but I do love my Age of Empires type strategy games.

PC of course, for best visuals, and of course for modding. (no need "modding tools" if you have the right programs and skills >.>)

The Wii U monster should be lying on the ground, already dead.

That GIF always makes me smile. The Wii U monster is keeping it's distance from the PC Geralt, as it should be.

Xbox One.
And for the record, I played my share of RPGs on the PC. Baldur's Gate 1 & 2, Morrowind, Diablo 2 (if you want to call it an RPG), KOTOR, and I've also been playing them on the 360 for the past many years: Mass Effect 1, 2 & 3, DA:O and DA2, Skyrim. It comes down to this: I gave up my PC after the last time I had to reformat the stupid thing. We are a Mac household for eight years now, and couldn't be happier. No viruses. No spyware. No necessary reformats when it starts running slow. No spending an entire day redownloading updates and drivers to get a game or whatever to work. No need to rebuild the entire system everytime a new hot RPG comes out that my old system won't run. Is a mouse and keyboard a better controller than a...controller? Yes. Can someone on a PC say their graphics look prettier if you put them right next to mine? I'm sure they can. And I really don't care. I'm happy with the way I play, and I don't criticize anyone else for playing their games on whatever system they want. I do miss the mods, but not enough to take me back. In fact, in some ways the mods actually ended up distracting me from playing and finishing the game. I never did finish the main storyline in Morrowind, for example.

I'm building a PC this spring but I'm really not that knowledgable about what to get. Does anyone have suggestions about optimizing a PC for Frostbite 3? I also play TOR. Argh I wish I knew more about hardware
This is a good place to start, make sure to squeeze a SSD for TOR (it's hands down the most important component).

I switched after 11 years of using OSX when Lion came out, Windows 8.1 is just a better desktop OS (Apple's touch input / battery life still rule though).

Really? Ok, I have to ask what you find better about it? I recently took a job that has forced me back to working on PC (for 40 hours a week, at least) and in which I am also providing rudimentary tech support to about 30 people of varying degrees of technological familiarity (meaning some can barely check their e-mail, and others are fairly savvy). Almost universally, people seem to despite Windows 8. Having been forced to navigate it multiple times to help people do things like install software, drivers, set up Outlook, etc, I find I can't disagree. I think it is the most non-intuitive OS Windows has ever made. Is 8.1 significantly different than 8.0...? Because if it is, I may have to look into upgrading some folks.
If our work printer would talk to Mac, I swear I would bring my Macbook pro into work with me each day and use it instead.

Definitely PC - slowly but steadily upgrading it as and when money allows. New Mobo, monitor and R9-280X GC so far, next is ram and an SSD ![]()
