Why would you spec these characters for power damage?

Maybe because their best gun is a Phalanx VI?

For me I find using powers fun I think in the long run that is what really matters . I find it kinda challenging to play characters as casters instead of weapon platforms or melee builds .

Using my AA build as an example, I'd rather take damage and capacity at rank 4 over weapon damage because the difference in weapon damage is insignificant in the grand scheme of things at that point.

This.  Red John I think of AA and N7 Fury as biotics, so I'm looking to maximize their biotics.

Specing them for power damage boosts their biotic damage and reduces their power cool down and rechage speed in every power category.

While maxing out weapon damage increases the power recharge speed, increases cool downs, and decreases power effectiveness.

Why play a biotic if you do not intend to maximize and use their biotic abilities?  Why not just play a soldier if all youwant is to maximize weapons?

I apologize, not sure how to make the images larger.

Well, about Fury, its main atraction is the constant Biotic Explosion thing and that's not related to the passive tree.

You can do exactly that by spec'ing into weapon damage, take your Warp ammo and see how you strip shields much faster.

The difference with the cooldown is hardly noticeable depending on what weapon you are using.

Manifest.

I've been able to be effective on Gold on PSN just using a Human Sentinel with whatever fast-cooldown weapon I have handy, and I don't need to unlock any kits or weapons to do it.

That's why I wrote the thread in my sig. Because it's a better option than teaching a bunch of newer players bad habits by having them jump to higher difficulties using Juggys or an AIU.

A more important question: Why would anyone want to discourage the practice?

I genuinely laugh when people tell me that "i only biotic-booms!!"

warp ammo + Primed enemy is faster than BEs on larger enemies

Spoiler alert: Not any faster because Warp Rounds doesnt do damage to shields.

What you gain on power classes here is 7.5% weapon damage at the expense of more weight capacity, which is useful for heavier loadouts. 7.5% is not that much.

imo shields are far less important then having some extra power damage. Most of my adept builds are 6/6/6/6/0

The only thing that's important IMHO for AA/Fury is to get 1200 force for the ability to stagger. It isn't about the damage. Anything above 1200 force, move to weapon damage instead.

I just feel better with that capacity upgrade. Also don`t really give a damn about headshot.
Either passive evo matters very little to me. They both help.

Looking at the Asari Adept's rank 4 evolution choices, it actually turns out that weapon damage doesn't really come out very far ahead.

Even if you're using a Hurricane X, it's about 55 DPS theorycrafted which means even smaller of a gap in-game.

I don't understand why some people spec Asari Adept,  Human Sentinel, Turian Sentinel, N7 Fury, Krogan Battlemaster, Krogan Shaman some other Characters that are not really power dependant. It's just out of my comprehension, can you help me to understand?

Can you explain me why?

Because they can and they own the game so it's their choice.  Care to explain why you create numerous threads daily?  Many of which tell others how to play a game they paid for????  Why do you think your way to play is the only one or always is the right one?

I do use power damage on one of my human sentinels, just for that super big hitting damage on bosses, I know I doesn't increase BE damage and its not really necessary but meh

Rank 4 of the Class Passive is to choose between (4a) Weapon Bonus Damage of a paltry 7.5%, or (4b) Bonus Power Damage with Bonus Power Force and More Carry Weight (CoolDown Bonus)?  For a "caster"?  That's a no-brainer right there.

RedJohn pls. Image IPB

Seriously though, the Bonus Power Damage part is cute, but unnecessary.  It's the Force and CD bonuses which matter.  Now, if the Weapon Damage evolution option gave more than just 7.5%, say... 10% 0r 15%?  Maybe then we'll have a race.

Because they either want the carrying capacity, or they're ignorant.

Because as far as being optimal goes, most casters don't need the extra power damage.

tbh I don't know why I do half the things I do. Mostly to upset ToLazy4Name though, I think.

I purposely use sub-optimal loadouts for this reason alone.

It's my preference to play my biotic characters to their powers, rather than attempt to make every class a weapons build. If the intent is to optimize weapons why play biotic characters?

You're not making it into a weapons kit, you're just giving it extra weapon damage since the extra power damage doesn't help nearly as much.
