I agree, I know the consumer base for Dragon Age may not be as diverse as other games but I am African-American and I find it had to reflect that in Dragon Age.

That's because there are no African Americans in Thedas.

Well, kind of. That's what they said. But not really.

I'm sure this has been said before, but long hair isn't easy to render or animate. I hope we get more hairstyles such as long hair, but I'm doubting that we will.

Yes please. I was making characters in Rift the other day and liked a lot more of the hairstyles there than I did for DA/ME/SWTOR. It made me a little sad. :( (Especially the female high elves! Flowers woven into the hair? Fabulous!)

protagonist is supposed to be fighting a war, not super model competion...

true but it doesnt hurt to  make ur character look good if u want too

Exactly! Besides, Bioware constantly creates characters that 'are supposed to fight' (Isabela, Miranda) and yet give them totally 'unsuited for combat' look. (Half-naked pirate girl? Miss of the galaxy? Really, Bioware?) What I want is equality between PC and NPC looks. If they can be like models, PC should have an opportunity too. PC if forced to choose from crappy, short (yes, I'm crazy about it too) hair? Then please, don't give NPCs 'fabulous long hair' that without mods we can only dream about. It is just not fair.

If we were to identify Isabela with a real world ethnicity she'd be more indian than [African].

They should reference the hairstyles in Dragon's Dogma and take super precise notes.

Well it wasn't quite Miranda's long hair that made her a prissy Beauty Queen utterly coded for the straight male gaze; it was more about her collagen lips, skin-tight clothing, and positioning of the viewpoint camera. And as for Shepard, she is a soldier, so Miranda's hair would not have made sense. Not that I'm a fan of decreasing player agency, but I understand the decision at least (but again, personally, I prefer to give the player options even if they don't make "sense"... i.e. make-up).

But I'm on your side :D ... Don't give hair to NPCs if we can't have it... ESPECIALLY if most of OUR options suck.

Could we also have more cool SHORT hairstyles for women? I almost always pick the super short hairstyle for my FemHawke. All the other hairstyles are too long and girly (as well as stiff/unmoving) or librarian-esque. My FemPC is usually a fighter and a no-nonsense kind of person who doesn't bother with crap like hair and make-up (her words, not mine... I do also have a more feminine FemHawke who has Grace's hairstyle).

 More hairstyles = more better
always.
Put less simply, the more I am able to be creative with my character, the less disappointed I'm going to be when I run into multiple NPCs with the same exact hairstyle as me. Also, creativity is more better.

Personally I'd love some cute looking banged/fringed haircuts, and not the awful bowlcuts they had in DA2, and better looking updos, of all the updos in DAO and DA2 the only ones I liked were Tallis' and Morrigan's, which weren't even available to the PC without mods.

Randomly giving Morrigan's hairstyle to Athenril and STILL not making it available to Hawke was like the biggest slap in the face

I was under the impression Rivain was based loosely off of Spain.
