I'm assuming that the develpoers read these posts, if so, could someone please confirm whether the option exists to enable me to swap the functions of the dual analogue sticks in the 360 version of Mass Effect 2.
I like to be able to aim with the left stick and move with the right stick, but the original Mass Effect did not allow me to remap these controls, unlike 99.9 percent of other shooters on the market.
(Yes, I know Mass Effect is more of an RPG, but it still requires a good aim and fairly fast reflexes.)
A query from a lefty.

An option wouldn't hurt. Although I must ask why didn't you learn to cope with the default controls in the first place? That way it wouldn't matter if there wasn't an option to swap the sticks.

As a fellow lefty just get use to it, we lefties are a rare bred because we think with the right side of the brain and are slowly taking over everything. Just let the righties have there fun by making everything backwards because they know we will control everything they love soon.

I'm left-handed but totally didn't realize this was an issue for some other left-handed people. I don't see there being much of a benefit to duel-stick inversion given the fact both hands are usually equally engaged in controlling the game. It just seems like a preference to me.
To each their own though.

I am slightly ambidextrous. I suppose if I used my left hand more I could bring it up to speed with my right no problem.
Lefties the way of the future? I think not. The ambidextrous people use both sides of their brain.

I'm a lefty as well and I didn't even know there was an option to switch the controls around like that until a few years ago. For me, it wasn't even a matter of adapting, it wasn't even an issue. I mean you use the right hand for pressing buttons so even if you have as much strength and control in your right hand has jello, you still get some form of control just from pushing those buttons constantly. Evolving to knowing when to use the right stick and when to push the buttons was nothing at that point.
Different strokes for different folks I guess. Just like those people who have a hard time using the camera when they're not inverted. I don't understand, the game you're playing is not a flight simulator, wtf? Like I said, different strokes for different folks I guess.

Thanks for all the interesting opinions folks, I've been offline for a few days so I couldn't view this or reply. I was hoping for an official response from one of the developers, but hey-ho!
What can I say, I just play a lot better with the thumbsticks swapped and even though I've tried to use the sticks on default, I'm just crap. Oh, and I play with the y-axis inverted as well and I can't seem to get used to it if they are not inverted.
People seem to think it's weird that it's such an issue for me, but if it's no big deal, why do so many developers include the option in their games? It must be a big deal for a lot of other peop[le or they wouldn't bother doing it.
