I don't think there's anything wrong with your current stats, it's a surprise to me that you're getting kick votes :S [assuming you that's why you're here]

I only ever promoted to reset powers and eventually stopped at N7 rank 300 because I started getting regular-ish respec cards.

Some people are always going to vote against you regardless, there's no point going out of your way to try and appease them.

Like others before me have said, it might be something to do with your loadout or perhaps something completely unrelated to you altogether.

Bottom line, do it only if you want to, else f**k it.

As long as you don't enter my game with the Avenger X and a Predator IV we are cool. Mainly I look at guns along with the N7 rank.

N7 420 and 11kCP isn't anything to raise eyebrows over. As long as your loadout doesn't look completely retarded, and you've got consumables on, you should be fine.

I let the RNG decide what class to play next (the one with the most levels) after promoting just to keep things unpredictable.

Promote and relevel classes because it's fun, or don't because it isn't.

This.

I promote because I am always changing things up and there are not enough respec cards to support that.

I promote because I enjoy the migration.

If you don't enjoy promoting, then don't do it.  N7 means very little.  Challenge points mean a bit more.

When I look at a pug, I evaluate what gear they equip and their weapons.  No gear means not serious, weak gear means they are trying, good gear generally means it will go well.  Weapons are often a hint as to whether someone is new or just doesn't promote much.  Gear seems to me to be a better indicator of how someone will play, versus N7 number.

tl;dr:  If you don't enjoy promoting, don't.  N7 really doesn't matter much and doesn't have a strong correlation to skill.

Woops, another thing to add is that having a high N7 can add pressure. People assume I'm awesome and can carry PUGs blind-folded when I'm actually pretty crap - just something to think about.

Haha same here!

Also, @ thread starter - I personally don't think your N7 rank has any influence on whether people choose to kick you. I get kicked out of games very frequently, it happens very often (the vast majority of these happen to be noob platinum lobbies, which is strange). And guess what? I have an N7 over 16,000, CP over 39,000, botb banner and I have all my ultra rares maxed out, and I always put on consumables before I ready up. And I get kicked very frequently like I said. There are a lot of young children and immature people who play MP, I think they just get a kick out of kicking people, and I don't think it has anything to do with your N7 rank.

People are intimidated by you - I know I would be! Image IPB

Bask in the knowledge that you're too awesome for them to handle. Image IPB

N7 really is all a deception. I had an N7 18 with a lvl 17 character in my gold lobby earlier; I didn't kick because I generally don't kick (unless people are talking crap on their mics and ruining my silent serenity). Anyway, the person was awesome - they played as a vanila human sentinel and came second (only died a few times) and was armed with a shuriken I.

I sent them a message afterwards to congratulate them and they admitted that they were playing on a new account (already had an old one which they'd spent over 700 hours on).

Just goes to show: never judge a book by its cover!

But then your idealistic bubble can rapidly get punctured by those low N7s who really are noobs and come on gold and plat for early easy money. Image IPB

This.

If there's one rule of thumb in the MP bible/rulebook; it's definitely this.

EDIT: Sorry for triple post! (naughty Image IPB)

dont care. I usually look at challenge point or best loadout.

If you have no weapons/gear/equipment you might get a vote... But I'm pugging with N7 - 50ish too... fur fun (masochistic fun)

Thanks for the responses people. Just to clarify -- I didn't start the post 'cause I'm getting kick votes, just wondering what people thought of lower N7 rankings. Only one poster above hinted that they'd judge such a rank lowly ("having an N7 of 420 may make me make certain assumptions about you"). Heck, I make assumptions about people with top rankings, XP points, a BOTB banner, etc. (I assume they probably are pretty good).

A few things may indicate inexperienced players:
low N7, low challenge points and low level weapons/gear, low or no consumables.

Have any of this at a higher level will show you have some experience.

Also, from my point of view, I don't mind playing PUG games with inexperienced players, but I would be worried if all of them are.

Yep, one meatshield is enough, usually. ;)

Two or more turns it into a duo/solo run...

If you rank above 120, you're fine. Challenge points are a better indicator of a seasoned player because it means you've most like tried out most of, if not all, the classes, guns, maps, & powers and have a deeper understanding of them*. Plus, I'm sure the stoners out there find your particular rank amusing.

*regardless of whether you liked them or not

Also promote does get your N7 rank up sure +10 also leveling up gives you + 1 N7 So if you start at level 1 with no packs then you get N7 +20 plus promote N7 + 10 = N7 30. Main gain for promate is war assets for SP. But if you finished game with all DLC you don`t really gain from doing so. Only if you like high rank in MP. Plus CP. I do it for rank and SP as I plan to replay all 3 games all DLC again. But its nice to have an rank cos it shows you enjoy game. But if you have all at level 20 only just play then there no gain part from fun. Why not have fun and go up rankings also?

I actually hate having an N7 and CP rating at a relatively high level. I only started promoting for challenges, before that I was also sitting pretty at around 400.

Makes me feel guilty when I'm slumming on silver, also I wonder what others in the lobby think when I repeatedly make boneheaded mistakes sometimes. Regardless of difficulty, for example, I'm a GENIUS at running over the grenades right as they blow up. In a recent silver match, I did this in three.consecutive.rounds - and yep, I had the highest N7 and CP rating in that lobby.

If I could refund N7 and CP without giving up manifest, I'd do it in a heartbeat.
