Quick question BSN!  During the course of ME3, did anyone really ever get the feeling that Shepard or Shepard's squad mates were in any real danger?

Did you ever feel that by taking too long, or by making a bad decision you could potentially bring disaster down upon yourself or your allies?

If so, could you provide examples of key moments which made you feel truly uneasy or at risk?

I won't lie I thought the things I did in the game mattered, I thought that arbitrary number of war assets was going to mean something.

This was not the case, but even then I couldn't believe how straight line this train track was going to go.

During Tevos's conversation before Thessia, I kind of felt a sense of forboding that something I wasn't expecting was going to happen, that perhaps I was going to lose something soon. Mostly because it felt that the story was really beginning to ramp up, that this was the end-game for Shepard's efforts.

Other than that... I can't really remember a time when I didn't know I was going to win. Even after Shepard gets hit by Harbinger the only thing I felt was confusion.

Getting stepped on by a giant death-bot on Tuchanka a few times did make me a little tense.

Only twice, the first being Thane's fight on the Citadel, though that was compounded with frustration, and when I first started Priority: Earth, since it was pretty much the end of all things. Funny how the only people who can die regardless of your EMS are Miranda and Steve.

I thought Liara was going to bite it on Thessia if i'm honest, having her as a mandatory squadmate made me think that she was going to be killed.

I also thought that EDI might die at Cerberus HQ, until Joker started worrying and saying about a killswitch, then i thought she'd be fine lol.

Otherwise I thought that during one of the returns to the Citadel, the Reapers would attack. Honestly didn't think Cerberus would though.

Kind of. There was a sense of threat. I felt the rush, saw everywhere that the war is going on, that people are dying, space exploring wasn't safe anymore. It felt like I cant go on a space safari like before. It was similar to ME2 after the crew got captured, but across the wole game.

It's like - in ME1 and ME2 I felt that there is an open space which is free to explore, and in ME3 I felt that basically only safe place out there is the Normandy.

Only the italed bit, on Tuchanka, Rannoch, and sometimes during the coup depending on the save import.

Which proves that ME3 is a real RPG, right?

Though I do think that ME3 did a pretty good job with the atmospherics of the Reaper threat. A good deal better than DA:O did, FWIW.

Rannoch, although I had faith that I had made enough decisions conducive to peace. Still, my buddy did not and choice the geth, not knowing the shocking events to follow.

I've seen posts like this all the time, and frankly I just don't get it. The game pretty explicitly spells out what'll happen when you make the choice; it's like saving Ashley on Virmire and being shocked when Kaidan dies.

The Grunt scene was pretty epic. I honestly thought he was dead (...for a moment).

The game spells out that Tali will throw herself off the nearest cliff? Doubt it. But the destruction of the quarian fleet, sure.

I thought Grunt was going to be dead. I had tears. Then on my first play of mass effect I'd rewritten the heretics, then realized Legion had told me a pack of lies (pre-morning war quarians in suits?), shot him three times, and turned his larger force into scrap metal. Rannoch was a major victory. I was expecting Liara to die on Thessia so I brought Javik. Miranda died. I thought my war assets mattered. I played multi-player. I got to pick the color of explosions on my screen. I chose my favorite color: red. The relays blew up, the Normandy crashed........ I LIVE!!!!!! ....... but what? Bioware! Y U No let me see Liara again?

What else was she going to do, say: "Oh well, sh*t happens, lets go hang out Shepard." ?

Right, because there's nothing in between indifference and suicide.

Yeah, but imagine this: you're alone off world and earth gets destroyed, killing every human being besides yourself. Every friend, family member, neighbour, heck Jeff the cashier at the drugstore are all dead. What would you do?
