For all those who:
  • Want to learn how to play this class at least at a medium level (I am not really good)
  • Want to see why you should not skip pull entirely
  • Are bored enough to actually watch 27 minutes of PuGing

Features:
  • Clusternade spawn nuking (not that much, but here and there)
  • "Biower pls" moment
  • No rockets
  • PuGs
  • Me dying stupidly sometimes (learn and improve)
  • Nyancat music
  • True gameplay - I did not record several matches and picked the best parts or the best game - I started ME3, recorded the first game and that's it. No scenes missing - that of course also means no boring parts missing

I will add comments to certain points in the game when I get the
time. Part 1 is uploaded, currently finishing up, Part 2 is currently
uploading.

-> Part 1
-> Part 2

P.S.: Most here will be proficient with DA anyway, but for those who aren't, I hope it helped a bit.

It was the music that was running while I was recording, not implemented afterwards.

What's your build? I quite like Pull but I just like everything else the Drell adept has to offer much more so I never spec into it.

Edit: you were listening to that music while playing?

Yes, believe me, Nyancat makes you play better on hyperactive classes like the DA =P

I skipped 12,50% Weapon Dmg for pull - I can't say I regret it. What does a bit of weapon damage matter when you are dead because you had no stagger?

Reave staggers everything

Yes, but only staggers, pull can take out an unshielded or stript enemy for a long time, which is often very helpful.

Also - I added notes to the 1st video. Mostly "I'm magnetic to warp balls" and how many times some random warp ball from SOMEWHERE across the map hits me. There are obviously much more in part 2...

I will second your opinio on Pull... always worth 3 ranks IMO.

I just posted a video of Justicar gameplay in the Themed Weekly Challenge thread; warts and all just like yours.

Nice work; more ninja flipping sir!

I see no point in taking out a mook for a long time, when I can just stagger him with Reave and a)finish the job with a cluster grenade if it still is fully shielded or B) land a Talon headshot if it has no shields and look for my next prey.

I ran a 3-points-in-Pull DA for a long time. Needless to say, useless power is useless. Anything human-sized touched by Reave will be dead within one or two seconds, Pull only slows that process down, messing with your aim if you're gonna shoot it, or making you depend on a second cooldown for a BE. You can always toss a grenade to a pulled enemy but that's innecesary since any enemy that can be affected by Pull can be destroyed faster with Reave/shoot.

Just my two cents. Nice video, btw.

I agree, if you're going to use the Acolyte as a main weapon, then Pull is useful.  The extra 12.5% weapon damage is not a big deal when you're using the Acolyte.  If you're a powerful gun (as I do with the DA), then that 12.5% extra damage is quite a big deal.  Also, if you're using a big gun, Pull is often a waste of time, because the enemy would often be dead before Pull even connected.

Thanks for the nice comments.

On the Justicar pull is something worth speccing 6 points into, but I feel like the Drell is better with just 3. I played the Drell with 6 points in pull too, but you are only slowing yourself down like FateNeverEnds says.

Nevertheless - pull staggers enemies harder sometimes, reave only gives the small stagger every time, also when you have a lot of spread out enemies you cannot hope that your clusternades will hit everyone, that's risky. Pulling one while shooting the others in the head is the more safe way IMO.

I play the same build too and use Paladin only.

Good video - nice dodge flips and mixture of reave/shoot/cluster.

I play him frequently on gold, and have tried 0 pull, 3 pull, 6 pull with all melee and none, with acolyte, shotgun and harrier.

I can't say there's a huge difference in my deaths or dps between the builds, but I find I do slightly better at medium range with him. I'm most comfortable playing him 6/0/6/6/6 pull-less, using the harrier (I'm not a fan of switching weapons on a frantic class like the drell) with a blade attachment for CQC (HM kill bonus is nice too). This gives him reasonably good CD for his reave staggers and a strong weapon for boss armor.

I suppose it comes down to your reaction speed & comfort level.

I love the drell melee, but I barely use it. Often I am glad its that great, but I wouldn't specc into it.

I don't use the Harrier on any class =P too cheesy.

Acolyte is fine though - cause I could play him with the wraith only too... but... its too damn fun acolytepullreave a phantom in a group of 2-4 and then throw a clusternade (their bubble will just be gone).

Hmmm, fancy title. May not be MP related.

Reported.
