off fans of Commander Shepard, and shot down the notion of ever doing
Mass Effect as a TV series in conjunction with or separate from the
planned feature film."
*chortles*
well...you know..hey...
If they are doing this, I hope they do a great job. Such a great job that it's wildly successful and can stand on its own.
I love a good sci-fi movie.

If there is any media I would fully endorse, it would be TV.

If they have myriad ways of doing Batman, Superman, Spiderman, Star Trek and heck even Star Wars adaptions, they have just as many ways they can take on ME, or whatever other video game movie they have in the works like Assassin's Creed with Fassbender and so on. It was only a matter of time before video games started making their way into the movie houses... what with the amount of production that goes into em now a days.
But I would have to agree I would rather see ME as a TV series than a movie.
and is it bad I'd like Joss Whedon to do it?

Since the ME series is done I would love to see it done as a TV series as long as they don't crap on the lore and the characterizations as they did in Legend of the Seeker which was a good series if they didn't slap the names of beloved characters onto personas that are nothing like their progenitors. TNT could probably do it right or A&E they would need to get writers that are fans of the games writers who love the games as much as the fans in the way Peter Jackson loved Lord of the Rings.
I know they would probably go with John Shepard but I can dream of ME with Jane but its okay since the rest of the cast of female characters are just as strong and interesting as Jane.

Set it during the time of the games, but don't make it about Shepard. Everybody already knows how it will end. (And isn't happy about it.)
Give us a fresh protagonist, and if you must, have a small cameo from Liara, Tali, or Garrus. Characters we know, but that stay the same throughout the games. Mention Saren, but don't show him. Make it have a completely unique story that loosely ties in with the game. Let us see Noveria, or even Feros.
They can make it tie in and be related to the universe without making a carbon copy of the default choices.

Here here! That sounds perfect. Or if they must do it about Shepard, I wish they'd do FemShep. A new Sigourney Weaver of sorts. I remember hearing Jen Hale mention in an interview that she felt like that.
