We would need to know what sort of combat system DA3 has before we can start to get "MP Ideas". ME3 / ME2 are basically shooters, hence MP for ME follows the formula or shooting games.

DA thus far has pretty old school combat system. It does not take collision into account. Taking away party members, if I were controlling only 1 toon, in MP I'd imagine it would at best be something like DOTA or Warcraft.

If DA3 uses a more action oriented (doubtful - because you have to dedicate your attention to one character during combat) system like GuildWars2, then it would play more like GW2.

Hence, the sort of MP we will get is greatly restricted and determine by the sort of combat system DA3 will have.

No, I can't tolerate multiplayer in these games. And it's a matter of principle now. Given the hostility towards single players on all kinds of MMO forums, I'm going to repay that hostility by displaying it here. If you want multiplayer then go and play all of the other games that not only have multiplayer elements, but even have it as a main focus (like MMOs and the brainless war-shoot-kill games the kids like).

This is a single player game series, and multiplayer fans are not welcome.

MP in DAI would be a deal breaker for me. I don't want to support a game that focuses on the, for me of course, wrong things. Just a matter of principle really.

Also, the only MP mode added to a SP game that worked for me was the one from the Assassin's Creed series. Too bad the SP part of the game is getting worse with each passing year.

Dragon age 3's MP could give us the option to not only play as a different race, but play as class specialties brought into the more modern age.

Think of it. A tevinter magister, a elven arcane warrior, a dwarven legionnaire, qunari seerabas or karasten, and a whole host of other combinations and styles. You could play them on a whole different level than you did before, and get expansions on their lore by seeing unique moves they would bring to the battle and their roles in fighting.

Of course, there's always the risk that it would be a dynasty warriors clone, but that's frankly a risk I'm willing to take.

hell no i dont  care if they  add pixy fairis that shoot pixy dust  DA SHOULD BE A SINGLE PLAYER GAME IF U WANT MMO's GO PLAY RIFT, WOW, GW ETC LET DRAGONA AGE THE WAY IT IS WE  DONT NEED BS IN A GAME LIKE THIS

TOR had a fun little MP aspect that didn´t take away form the whole singleplayer-expirience. And ME3 also didn´t require you to give to bricks about it´s MP. So I guess the stars are right for the next publisher pleasing feature to not majorly affect BW´s next RPG title.

all i know is if they add MP just to please a few ppl i wont get it shame since its such a good game if they are looking to attract "new customers" by adding mp they might gain those few but they will lose alot of those that believe dragon age is as good as it is , as A SINGLE PLAYER so either way they will be back to square 1 weather they take from the dragon age SP experience or not DA is not meant to be a MP

I think we're far more likely to get another facebook game than an actual multiplayer mode (I think the quote that everyone's thinking of was more "every game will have a social component").

But I think a real-time combat dungeon crawl in the vein of Diablo or Gauntlet would be a ton of fun, potentially.

AFAIK, they haven't even confirmed there will be multiplayer.

They've confirmed there will be some form of "online element". Normally, that's multiplayer. But technically, DAO and DA2 had online elements as well. Check most people's avatars: That's an online element.

So, we don't know anything about what they're planning to do yet. Let's not get too excited or irritated yet.

I enjoyed the ME 3 MP, as well as the story (for the most part); I don't see why a person can't be a fan of both.

Anyway, I am hopeful about any supposed/hypothetical multiplayer mode that DA:I may have. Being able to enjoy the game long after my playthroughs are done is a big selling point, as well as being able to (like others have said) play as something not-human. I get that Bioware is wanting to focus the story around one race for the player; I'm fine with that for single player; but in a potential MP mode you could play as any number of creatures, things ranging from Dwarves and Elves to more obscure creatures that have a precidence set within the lore of being capable of working with the player character, but would take too much time from single to explain; things like Golems, Werewolves, Sylvains, Awakened Darkspawn, ect.

The inclusion of MP would IMO be a welcome addition to the series.
