The original plants vs zombies was this.
And then we have Plants vs Zombies 2
What... is.. this..?
The first was a well-loved game for its simple but challenging mechanics, nice art style, and so forth.
But they are turning this artsy tower defense into.. a third person co-op shooter. Uh, why?
Can anyone tell me why?

I'm waiting on the new Secret of Monkey Island FPS or the new Tex Murphy game that is supposed to be a linear military shooter.

As a spin off and not the sequel itself, surely its harmless. It looks more like a parody of the FPS genre than anything else. I mean, a garlic drone? Come on.

The shooter is a spin-off called Plants vs. Zombies - Garden Warfare. IT IS NOT Plants vs. Zombies 2. The actual PvZ 2 sequel is being released on iOs next month (July 18th).
Also, I think a shooter spin-off that keeps the wacky humor/whimsy of the main game could be amusing - guess we'll see.

Can we take the side of the zombies? It calls Plants vs zombies. I hope we get to play as the zombies in either games if we so choose. The final version of the first game allowed you to play as zombies, although they were clearly OP.
