i strongly recommond to not read this if you currently read or planning to read book asunder.

so since wynne died while saving evangeline do you think we will get shale as companion? it would make sense since she is.. bound to nothing right now.

also do you think it will be possible to become new lord seeker? that would be awesome :P

World of Thedas tells us the Lord Seeker is "presumed dead". Which is almost as good as telling us he's alive. Regardless, I think it's quite possible that our protagonist gets the opportunity to take his place in the course of the story.

About Shale: I love Shale, but I wouldn't want her as a companion again. I'd rather have her as a non-team NPC.

In regards to "Is the book canon?"

As I understand it, according to comments from David Gaider:

Sort of. The events of the book still happened in all "potential realities", regardless of your save games. They simply happened differently. If Wynne is dead, then a different mage fills the roles that she fulfilled.

The details change, but the final result (Templar split from Chantry. Rhys, Cole, and Evangeline vanish into the night. Etc, etc) remains the same.

Shale can die in Origins, so I doubt it. Only so many characters can be ressurected from potential dead before the handwaving becomes ridiculous.

Shale is one of the few characters of past I'd welcome again as a companion. Still more to her story arc that could be explored. Besides, the pigeon population in Thedas is growing once again.
