Enthusiastic yay! I thought she looked fantastic. Beautiful, but definitely not somebody whose bad side I'd want to be on.

Yay. She looks pretty while appearing a tough and capable soldier, and she looks less like a generic NPC.

I think all three returning characters in the trailer looked exceptional, much better than in their original games. I also think Mr. Gaider was right about people putting too much focus (and criticism) on the appearance of female characters.

I like it better than the DA 2 version.

Agreed. I personally think that Varric looked the most strikingly different, but I don't see any threads going on and on about how "odd" he looks or if we approve of his new look.

It's a new engine, of course these characters aren't going to look the exact same as they did in DAO or DAII. Can't we just be glad to have them back?

I like her ragged, torn-by-war look, but I still find her jaw unbelievably overemphasized.

She looked good (minus the stiff animation, not her fault), lips maybe a bit too pouty and Miranda-esque. I miss her DA2 hair but even a seeker can change her hairstyle if she wants :P

no one ususally complains about male characters cuz  on that spot they do it right but when it comes to females not so much...

Yeah, the Cassandra of DA2 was basically Hawke without a beard.

Shemale is offensive? That's weird..

OT! At least a couple people sorta agree. I don't focus too much, I just think it looks too friggin' HUGE!

lol sorry but its true take aveline for example  if she didnt have  a female voice i would have mistaken her for a dude  regardles  of the theme being that u are at war and such  a female character should still be some what feminine.... well atleast thats my oppinion but oh well it is what it is

"lol sorry" doesn't fool anyone into believing you're truly sorry.

If you didn't know Aveline was female until she opened her mouth then you may have some neurological issues and should probably see a doctor.

Erm... Alistair in DA2?  Honestly, you ppl should thank your lucky stars they all a look so awesome.  Varric was the only one I didn't actually recognize, he seems to have gotten younger and more handsome over the years.  I may have to rethink my attitude on dwarves.

I think a big part of the problem is just that people haven't met Morrigan or Cassandra in game yet, and given their personalities a chance to make them feel more familiar.

She looks sharply different than from the movie (just saw it the other day) but I suppose that's to be expected.  Also, she's what, around 40 at this point in the story?

As a male, I loved Aveline's look. It was different from the norm and it matched her character. As to Morrigan and Cassandra in the 'Fires Above' trailer, I'm not even seeing what others keep harping on about. I concede that I might see a bit of awkwardness to Morrigan's lips, but I think that's more an animation thing, and certainly not 'ugly'. Cassandra's jaw on the other hand seems perfectly normal/natural to me.

I know, right? When I saw Varric in the trailer, I was like 'oh boy, the BSN will have a field day with this'. Instead the forums are abuzz about Cassandra and Morrigan, who look exactly like you'd imagine they would in that kind of engine.

EDIT: @motomoto - just ignore him. He's just trying to bait people.

This lack of consistency between how she looks in DA2, DA:DOTS and DAI trailer is not something I like. Personally like a look somewhere between DA2 and DA:DOTS. DAI, her big jawline is a turn off.

It is bad. Very bad.

Why do they have to change the way everyone looks. And what is up with that quanari?

I thought the Qunari looked good, and as for Varric, he looks tremendously handsome. He's the videogame dwarf Fabio, lol.

I actually don't have a problem with her jawline at all. It gives her a more badass look.

Antje Traue for example, the actress who plays Faora in Man of Steel also has a wide jawline but still looks really sexy and badass in my eyes. She looks like the real life version of Cassandra.
