This..... doesn't make sense. There are lots of women with jaws like Cass.

No, but Cassandra is. To me, at least.
Funny how things are, huh

Going by this thread, plenty of people find her easy on the eye.
Beside, she doesn't look that much different from her DA2 look to me (in the pre-alpha). People just have bad memories, just like they didn't realize it was the same VA or claims that the accent is different (it's not, go play the start of DA2 to compare). Angles and lighting can make the same person look totally different, the same thing is true here.

I wonder how feasible/costly it would be to incorporate a changing table that accommodated followers as well as our next hero? Hair, eyes, make up change, facial looks can’t be that complex to anymore.
We shouldn't be allowed to change our companions that much

I think she looks fine.
I also believe that because most video games churn out so many unnaturally beautiful women, that when you see someone who DOESN'T fit the golden ratio - all hell breaks loose.
Heaven forbid a woman not fit your unfair standard of beauty in a video game. If she were male no one, and I mean no one, would complain about his features not being unnaturally beautiful.
This whole thread is absurd. Yay or nay? This is not a beauty contest. I hope nothing changes about her because there is nothing to change.

I don't know, I think elven women are supposed to be skinny. They're elves.

I think they're supposed to be gracefully built, in DA2 elves were indeed just anorexic, at least the female ones. But that wasn't the only thing that was off about Elves....
(Now I want to see some fat elves just for the hell of it.)

On Cass, I think she looks fine as is. I would just maybe change the eyebrows.
Nobody complained about Alistair and Zevran in Dragon Age II?Daissran wrote...

Ah. Well, you should probably know that we don't evaluate every character in the game by how pretty or how handsome they are. The artists are interested in making distinctive characters, not supermodels.

I find this thread odd.
"She has a giant jaw! It's huge!"
It's not that big, really. She does have very strong features though. I agree.
"Well you should change them!"
Why?
"So she would be prettier!"
What makes you think that making her conventionally pretty was the artists' primary goal?
"If she's not pretty enough, I won't want to have sex with her!"
I'm sure she'll be terribly disappointed, assuming she's even a romance.
"It doesn't matter if she's a romance!"

"Those are not mutually exclusive!"
No, I wouldn't normally think so either, but perhaps we're not reading the same thread.
Personally, I think there's bound to be some tweaking in the months to come-- so feel free to comment away-- but if anyone believes that tweaking will be aimed solely at making her more "pleasing to the eye" they've got another thing coming. Just FYI.
What does it achieve to say you don't like Cass' jaw?Topsider wrote...
I'm not sure what your point is actually. Yes, you can criticize another person's opinion, but what would that achieve? Except prove that people have different opinions?Maria Caliban wrote...

Who said it is a beauty contest? People are giving their opinion on Cassandra's new look, and they have the right to do so.
If people have a right to give an opinion on Cassandra's looks then others have a right to criticize that opinion. Personally, invoking natural rights when indulging in 'Hot or Not?' for video game characters strikes me as overkill.
