So, i have extra 20 bucks, and i want to buy an rpg.

A friend of mine said Alpha Protocol was realy good, just a bit buggy. Well, i though, i played buggy games before, and if the story is good, why the hell not?

Than a second friend comes and suggest another game, one that by his descriptions, matches what i love: sci-fi genre. He suggested me Mars: War-logs, decribing the game as an also buggy game, but on scape, wich alweys wins points with me.

And here comes the problem, i dont know what to buy. Any help ?

II haven't played Mars, so I can't help on that front. AP has great design on the RPG side, in terms of reactivity. It's kind of like the anti Witcher 2, in the sense that it does a really good job reacting to all of the little things you do.

I assumed you've played deus ex HR??? if not, then play that. Alpha Protocol is a very good game. I'd venture to say that the bugs and glitches have been patched, so that's a good one. Also check out a gem called Bastion from supergiant, very unique and cool. You know, Dark Souls Prepare to die edition is only 30 bucks on steam right now, If you haven't played it yet, I would say Dark Souls- if you're brave enough that is. Don't know if you've played the original Witcher, but the directors cut is only 10 bucks- that's a steal for that good of a game. good luck.

The Witcher is 5 bucks on gog.com right now (they're running their summer sale). Dark Souls Prepare to Die edition has been much cheaper than 30 bucks (I picked it up from Amazon for 12), so I wouldn't recommend jumping on it for that price. Alpha Protocol has a reputation for being buggy, but I played the game and really didn't notice anything major. Great game. I'll second the vote for Bastion. Helluva game.

Anyway, I mentioned gog.com and would highly recommend checking out their games and deals. Right now (and for another 7 hours or so) you can pick up The Witcher 2 for 6 bucks.

I've heard good things about Mars: War Logs from people on here, for what it's worth. Sounds like a solid game, with RPG qualities similar to Bioware games. I'm waiting to see if it will be part of the big summer sale this year.

Both games are total rental material, as in they are kind of enjoyable in a low expectations way but once you finish your never gonna bother playing them again.

As been said, if you haven't played Deus Ex yet, get that instead. Or Witcher if you're on pc. Or fallout if you somehow skipped that as well. Or every other better rpg. Alpha and Mars are low-fi games. Maybe worth $5 if you can find em for that (shouldn't actually be hard)
