I'm guessing you are referring to Kingdom of Amalur? I can't tell you for sure because I never participated in all this. However, from what I'm reading, you need to be connected to the EA server, which you tried. If you can't connect, then it seems you cannot do it. Here's what one user had to say about it a year ago:

"To get the reckoning armour and new Shotgun for ME3: download the KoA:R demo, log into the EA server, play through until after you've met the fateweaver, and been told you have no destiny. You'll have then unlocked the armour, then simply leave the game sitting idle for 45 minutes. You'll get an announcement once the time is up and and the demo is over for the gun being unlocked for ME3, along with some other items for KoA:R.

For the KoA:R Omni Daggers, download the ME3 demo, sign into the EA Servers, most likely after the demo is on general release, and finish the single player part of the demo. This may or may not also unlock items for ME3. This doesn't seem to be working yet though, so wait until later, when someone's confirmed it's giving the DLC out.

The N7 armour for KoA:R should unlock with the rest of the items and quests you get when you register the code you get with all new copies of KoA:R. You apparently don't need to play the ME3 demo for this, contrary to what we were told previously.

Simples."

Edit: I could be wrong, but I keep finding similar information to this.

Edit 2: Take a peek at the panel on the left. Go to "My Games" then click "Your Registered Game Content". see if it's in there.
