.  This, also because I reject what the Catalyst asserts as truth.

We do not know for sure that the minds inside a Reaper are suffering. For all we know life inside the Reaper might be pretty chill. We just don't know.

Destroy's pretty moral, yeah. Killing a sexbot's hardly anything to lose sleep over.

Your objections to Control make absolutely no sense though.

Nice catch. Usually Picard gets the rep of being overly diplomatic, but that was a Kirk like moment. "What does God want with a starship?" Question/Defy everything.

Destroy: You put the Reapers out of their misery and set them free but it comes at great cost.  Your synthetic friends will die.   Unfortunately for the galaxy, however, you have just doomed everyone.  Ultimately, this is no different from refuse but you instead have prolonged the end of humanity.

....What??

The big problem with Destroy (for me) is I befriend the geth. My Shepard went out of his way to bring peace between the geth and the quarians. He's not gonna betray them now. EDI doesn't even play into this. She's just one "life".

Also the "good" Destroy Shepard lives. Which is just wrong. It's a cheap thill. Either he dies and the series is over or he doesn't.

Control is the only option for my Shepard.

If you want a happy ending, try watching a Disney movie.

Editing to clarify:  a MODERN Disney movie.  Don't watch Bambi, her mommy gets invited to dinner.  Scratch Ole Yeller to.

If I want happy ending I pick Destroy. Like the Catalyst said, everyone will reach Synthesis some day, but on their own terms. Future AIs maybe friendly like EDI or we just build another Crucible and make them join the Geth. It's pretty unlikely that any future AI could be worse than Reapers.

Nobody is doomed like OP said. Ok nobody except Geth and poor EDI.

Everyone to their own...

I chose destroy because my Shepard didn't trust the Starchild. And because I wanted the Reapers dead.

Shep is Space Jesus. This is clear from his death and ressurection in ME2. Hence, he came to save us all (organic and synthetic) which rules out Destroy and Refuse.

That only bolsters my resolve for destroy. It didn't work for me with the Matrix Revolutions, and it ain't gonna work for me with Mass Effect.

How dies someone who doesn't trust the Catalyst end up doing anything but Refuse?

If you want emo, listen to The Cure.

Claiming an ending is good because it isn't Disney is as nonsensical as claiming an ending is bad because it is Disney.

Dying doesn't make atrocious stories better.

Control:  Enslaving billions or more helpless minds that are contained within the shell of a Reaper.

Synthesis:  The Reaper minds are still enslaved but even worse, by the Catalyst itself .  Also, genetic rape.

I don't know what Bioware was thinking but all of these endings are horrible and don't really have a happy ending because someone gets the shaft in all of them.

I can sort of understand the genetic rape thing but the citidel blows up so the catalyst is gone (like in destroy)

Didn't trust him on Control and Synthesis. And why not try to use the device we spent time building during the whole game?

Why didn't I chose refuse? Well,...I just don't like it.

So you trust him about things you want to belive, but not about things you don't want to believe.
