I've been trying to get someone to actually link me to one such study. Everything I've seen so far cites a couple of slides by the ESA which fail to provide any actual data or information on their methodology.

$20 bucks says that number includes women who play fluff like phone and facebook games as "gamers".

Let's take your terrible Youtube example.  Go to any video on Youtube with a plain woman talking about video games.  Not women in video games, just video games.  Take a look at the tone of those comments.  It might just reveal the shocking truth that women tend to be evaluated on their appearance.

Your observation is a result of confirmation bias.  As such, the conclusion you've drawn is specious and self-serving.

That cuts both ways. Perhaps you should take a look with a pretty girl talking about something other than video games. I'm sure you'll get positive comments, but I doubt anything on the level of "You're perfect, I wish I knew a girl like you, will you marry me?"
