ME3 was the first internet multiplayer game I ever played. I just recently ventured out into some other multiplayer games. I must say.  I didn't realise how "horrible" things were out there... swaerings alot, no room to learn unless you're prepared to hear A LOT of "damn NOOB, report!".

I cannot begin to understand why people have to behave like that. In ME3 I was a noob for quite a long time, and still I'm not what I'd call "a great" player. But I've never ever been insulted, harassed, etc. Oftentimes the team relied on my soloing and I failed miserably. Other times, I'd be synckilled right in the beginning of the wave. Still, no (online) swearings. I myself have also been "the victim" of noobs, but I never even thought about harassing people - even though there isn't an ingame report button. The most I've done is "xy_player, please try not to expose yourself so much", "mission everyone please" or "when you see a banshee, just run until more people come to help" or whatever.

Maybe I'm just a sissie. Or maybe I was spoiled by this wonderful community, which I just now learnt to value properly.

The community is a good one.

Even in terms of co-op which in theory is supposed to have less hostilities, it's still a good one.

For a subforum that revolves around co-op multiplayer, the people here sure do give off a competitive vibe.

Decent community. A bit of elitism here and there, but still a decent community nontheless.

We do that to people. Competitive Multiplayer brings out the worse in individuals because it's every man for themselves. There's nothing in it that values teamwork, and forcing players to cooperate in order to survive. In CoD and Battlefield you ether live or die based on your own performance and not necessarily well rewarded for helping other people.

ME3 Multiplayer turns this on its head, If you don't revive other players you quickly become outnumbered and lose the game, No matter how many points you have your points become the whole teams experience reward meaning everyone levels equally at the end of a match. To maximize credit rewards its in your best interest in helping the team complete the objectives as fast as humanly possible despite the opposition. The power combo explosions require two teammates to work together with some semblance of coordination in order to pull off to the devastating group wiping damage.

This is cooperative verses competitive. I for one pray that if this force multiplayer continues, we see more cooperative ones like this one which force people to work as an actual unit to achieve their goals.

In a perfect world such a thing might eventually spill over into competitive multiplayer but that's just wild hopes and dreams.

But I have my perfect world right here in ME3. ^_^ <3<3<3

This is a good community. I came to this game new to multiplayer a year ago and made a thread about how polite and welcoming my random teammates were. With very few exceptions, that's still the case more than a thousand games later, from Bronze to Platinum. My time with this game wouldn't have lasted nearly as long without such a community.

BSN itself can get a little dramatic and elitist at times, but I've still had good times here, have learned a lot (especially about the mechanics - thanks to posters who've done the legwork, like Cyonan, Peddro, Corlist, Dragon Racer, and many more) and I'm thankful to everyone I've interacted with on this place, even when we're disagreeing. I've also had a bunch of random people take me into games to show me tricks I didn't know, and I've surprisingly become a better player at this game than at any other one I've attempted, despite little background in gaming . So, thanks all. It's been fun.

yeah...

I'm pretty sure you can't comment on best multiplayer communities when the first MP game you ever played was in 2012.

When both my daughters play (middle school age), and (as long as I'm there too) I'm good with that, it says volumes about the rest of you out there.

Oh, and speaking of epeen, my youngest can totally take out 2 banshees at once with an accurately placed missle to the floor. Saved ole dad more than once :) Some people's kids score touchdowns or hit home runs...mine kill banshees. /flex

(hopefully not double post...forum said NEIN first time I tried)

Sorry for my wording, you probably know I meant it as a figure of speech. I'm just saying, this community is really good (as many more experienced players above are attesting).

About some comments above: all the elitism, individualism, point hunting and leeching of the 600h+ I've played in ME3 won't ever compare to the frustration of last week of intense play of these other games I mentioned.

BTW, elitism is bad; harassment is horrible. I get annoyed by "look how well I do with my UR X"; I get very upset and more prone to give up the game for good with "f*** you NOOB". At least, that's how I see it.

And about bsn, I've found that most "elitism" and "rudeness" is washed off by being polite yourself. My first post was met with a shower of "l2p" (I remember I had to look that up in google! =p), and at some point I said, "yes, I need to l2p, that's why I'm posting here, I'll gladly accept any hints you have to give". To which I was responded with politeness, helpfulness and kindness. I've done the same in game ("how do I deal with such-and-such? how do you snipe with javelin? etc etc"), and was always replied with politeness and helpful advice. In these other games I actually tried "what do you mean by <technical term>" in the mic, to which I was met with a "I don't have time to teach frigging noobs". That actually happened this morning.

So again, kudos to BSN and this community as a whole.

Although I will agree that the ME3 multiplayer community is rather tame compared to others, it really benefits from the lack of PvP.

I can't imagine the amount of **** talk there would be if being able to Stasis other players before killing them was possible.
