This is one portion of the trailer that's just driving me nuts as I can't figure out any reason why Cassandra would be leading an army to attack the Grey Wardens.  Granted, she's pretty much a zealot for Chantry but I thought the Wardens were universally respected by everyone.  Do any of you have any clue as to what's going on here?

It's her "time of the month"?

Bad joke, i know.

Maybe Wardens are no longer in control of this castle, or it's just the way trailer was edited and Cas attacks some other fortress.
Or it's some kind of rogue wardnes, maybe under control of Coripheus (is he part of canon, i wonder).
Or wardens have some blood magic users among them - they can go even that extreme, as we know from Warden's Keep.

Could it be the castle we take over, an occupied former Grey Warden castle sounds like something we'd take over.

That's a good point if if they aren't Wardens in the castle, I wonder who they are?  Freaking sucks we have over a year to wait for this game to come out.

They are Wardens. Check stripes uniform that you can see on screenshot - same like in DA2.

Look, I'm looking forward to killing Cassandra so I'm actually glad that game will give me some good reasons evidently.

Why would you want to kill her?  After watching Dawn of the Seeker, I have much more respect for her character than I did at the end of DA:2.  She may be a bit over-zelous but it appears she's at least honorable in her devotion to the Chantry.

Because she is a loon.

Seriously, making these kind of assumptions is :o

I know the answer to this. But it would be a massive spoiler. There are theories thrown about out there, a minority has got it correct.

How do you know the answer?  Are you a spy working for BioWare?

I'm sceptical that the scenes displayed will actually go together in the actual game.

It's not because you see "people" wearing a specific uniform that the people wearing them are members of a specific organisation, in control of their minds or even alive for that matter.

For all we know, the templars took it over by force, or the Grey Warden mages went extra Kirkwall crazy. We just don't know. But speculation sure is fun!

My theory (/hypothesis/groundless speculation) is that Corypheus is using the Wardens to attack the real antagonist (more for revenge than altruism) and the real antagonist is using the Inquisitors to take care of Coryphues.

Maybe the Chantry is trying to force the Grey Wardens into being under their leadership. Correct me if I am wrong but I think the Grey Wardens are the only other organization that both spans national boundries and has the potiential for an armed conflict.

Fortunately, or unfortunately, I received a leak a year ago, known only to me. Bah, maybe I shouldn't mention anything in the first place. Because I'm unwilling to reveal the evidence, no one will believe it 100%. It may the negative effect of drawing too much attention, so yeah I will say no more.

Don't make us force you to talk Sphere.  Have you watched the news in the US lately?  Do we really need the NSA to track down your source and reveal this dirtly little secret you have?

You know what they say about secrets: three may keep a secret if two of them are dead.

If the Grey Wardens take a stance in the Mage vs. Templar War, then it makes sense the Seekers could attack them. Or she's just mad about ME3's ending. Doesn't matter to me really, I'm boosted if this is a fight I get to join in.

There are Grey Wardens in every nation of Thedas, but there isn't all that many of them. 300 in Orlais, 1000 in the Anderfels, probably less than 3000 all told. Every Grey Warden is a top notch fighter, but you still can't do much with those numbers. Besides, they've always tried to stay politically neutral, to avoid grudges surfacing during a blight.

What's more, the Wardens are already kind of under the Chantry's leadership. They swore themselves to the Chantry during the second blight, and are greatly respected by them in turn. The Chant says that the Maker smiles on his Grey Wardens, for they make the ultimate sacrifice.

Or maybe the trailer is cut to make it look like she is attacking the wardens. Did you see her stab any warden? Then why do you think it was her? What i saw was fireballs from the sky (watch the trailer again, demons anyone?) and unidentified siluettes of soldiers attacking the fortress (could be anything from seekers to darkspawn).

Don´t beat yourself over it, we just don´t have enough info. Last time something like this happened, i tried to figured out what was inside Kasumi´s greybox, only to be completely irrelevant in ME3. All that brain power wasted for nothing, seriously, it is not worth agonising over these things.

In Legacy the Wardens did have an ancient Tevinter Magister who proved the basis of the Chantry's religion locked up without telling them. I'd guess that may upset them. It was also, slightly clumsily, implied that the Wardens were up to something (every time you asked what they were doing they said, "I can't talk about it).

Wasn't it evidence that the Alliance had attacked the Batarians over Leviathan research?
I seem to recall it being a part of Kasumi's appearance, and your decision about the Graybox determining if she'd join the war effort in ME3?

Grey Warden's might do that, at least to some extent. I mean they need mages to fight the Blight, and harbor both apostates and blood mages (hell, even the joining itself is blood magic). So if the Templars go overboard and seek to wipe out the mages or completely deny the wardens acress to them, they'd have to at least shelter some mages to be able to continue their mission.
