Doesn't Sebastian say something along the lines of Andraste defending the oppressed, and now that's the mages when Hawke sides with the mages.

Yes.

Funnily enough, despite him wanting to (rightfully) kill Anders, he seems to have no problems with mages whatsoever if you take him along for the ride.

Isn't he also totally assured that you're doing the right thing if you go against the mages? Unlike the other companions who have reservations if you go against what they normally would do, he's just totally for it either way.

Well, to be fair, so is Varric.

Yeah, he's fine no matter which faction you choose. Either you are saving the mages from Anders throwing them to the lions or getting rid of evil mages. His personal views are like the other love interests sexuality.

Well, to be fair, so is Varric.

Isabela doesn't really care either.

Yes, it can truly be said that DA2's rogues go both ways politically.

Isabella, Varic and Sebastian will never turn on you for choosing Meredith or Orsino, but they all seem to have slight preferences, which are mages (especially when in rivalry with Hawke), templars and templars respectively. But all of them still feel like they have very worthwhile reasons to fight for either side.

Didn't Varric also lean slightly towards templars simply for order though he didn't really care much either way?

He sounds slightly more eager to side with the templars, as he refers to it as "defending our way of life." On the mage side, he expresses doubt about helping "dangerous people run amok." But Varric stands with Hawke either way.

But you know, this debate is rather moot. What matters is that Sebastian/Bethany would make a cute couple. Bring them together, Bioware. Don't sink my ship.

I figure if he takes the throne of Starkhaven, he'll relent on that at some point. Princes need heirs.

Also, he seems slightly more attracted to Bethany than FemHawke, seeing as he hits on her in Legacy on his own initiative. Whereas Hawke has to pursue the guy in order to make him show interest. A dozen Seb fangirls will claw out my eyes for that comment, but that's just how I see it.

OK, I need sleep now. -_-

I'm all for it. Now I'm wondering if a similar thing will happen with Fenris and Isabela or Carver and Merrill. Assuming Hawke didn't romance them, of course.

Make it canon.

It's probably worth mentioning someone smiling at someone doesn't constitute as "hitting on them".

Well, he smiles at her in Mark of the Assassin, but they're a bit more flirtatious in Legacy.

I don't think they're quite as "meant to be" as the OP makes out, though.

Knowing Sebastian they'll get halfway through the deed before he stops and he shrieks "I cannae forsake my vows to the Maykhar!"

Poor Bethany.

Lol! I totally support this pairing. I always liked choir boy and Bethany deserves to be happy with someone.

This. If Sebastian came back my Inquisitor would want him. And if he does come back I pray he is no longer chaste and closer to his bad boy side that he mentioned in DA2. Posted Image

Choir Boy and Sunshine would be a good pair. But I think Choir Boy would be loyal to the chantry, thus probably kill Bethany. just my impression

Sebastian only has a problem with one particular mage who killed his mentor.

I'm not sure where this weird perception of Sebastian as a murder-happy Chantry zealot comes from.

Okay i agree with there. But i misspoke. I was saying Choir Boy is a loyal follower of the chantry. and chantry says mages need to be "locked up" . and his conversation before the final battle kinda support that. I took away he only helping because of Hawke.

He also says that "We must show that the Chantry cannot condone tyranny among its templars" and "We're here to help those who've suffered unduly at our hands." He clearly feels he has a good reason for taking a stand in support of the mages. He's not exactly blind to all the faults of the Chantry. In Mark of the Assasin he also says "The Chantry has failed the elves" when talking about why some, like Tallis, would convert to the Qun.

Also, the templars and the Chantry are no longer on the same side. It's the former taking the hard-line stance.

Looks to me like while he's not entirely comfortable with the idea of mages running loose, he recognizes that it's the right thing to do.  He sees the mages as people, and thus likely Bethany as an attractive young woman., rather than "just a mage"
