Black and red are the colors I almost always choose in any character creator.

Depends on the character, whether that hair color (and hair style) fits them or not. I made my Amell Warden with dark hair so Hawke ended up having dark hair, too. I think my character for DA:I might have blonde or light brown hair, we'll see.

Depends on my character at the time. I normally go for brown hair or dark blonde.

Funnily, my dalish wardens usually always end up with blonde hair, city elves and both circle mages have black hair and my human noble usually has dark brown or the lightest ginger.

But it usually depends on what hair I use, if its custom hair I tend to go for lighter colours as the darks always look scraggly.

Blonde, both bright and dark. I sometimes choose these hair colours to contrast certain characters. Unless they have blonde hair.

My Mage Warden and Hawke both have ginger hair.

I'm feeling a blonde protagonist in DAI, if Bioware can finally make a decent blonde. If not, then black hair.

Depends of the character, and of the race as well.
My Elves usually have silver, grey or blond hairs. Dwarves have dark colors.
My Mage Hawke had honey colored hairs, My female Hawke had Red hairs ( but I didn't play much with her).

I don't tend make characters that look like I do.  But I do tend to give them my hair color, black.  I am more likely to use different hair colors on female characters or characters that are a different race than human.  Granted, I still use black more than other colors in those cases as well.

Hmm, I've had characters of pretty much all hair colors - my most used ones are probably black, brown and blonde though.

I don't have a favourite, just depends on whatever looks good on each protagonist I make. I'm hoping they'll have a darker black colour though since it always just looked dark brown.

Across various games I have a disproportionate amount of redheads and quite a few black-haired characters too.  Less often, brown or white.  I never have blonde characters, for some reason.

I have a deep love for ebony black, black with blue or red highlights, ginger (the shade that Amy Pond from Doctor Who has) and dark red.

I rarely use other colors but, when I do, it's usually honey blonde as that's the only shade of blonde I like at all and brown seems too ordinary to me.

In DA2, I felt obligated to have dark-haired Hawkes because the family had dark hair. As a result of this, the Wardens I've created since DA2 came out have had any color hair *but* black. My City Elves and Broscas are gingers. My Aeducans and Amells are blonds. My Couslands have brown hair. I've only played one Mahariel, and she was blonde. Oddly enough, I've never played a Surana.

Majority have been custom redheads, (see avatar  ) then blondes, then a few others.
Have had white, grey, and a couple just using the default black for male and female Hawkes.

Don't go for the "never seen in nature" look, so haven't tried the fluorescent pinks or purples available in some of the makeup kits!

Saints Row the Third did that really well - I wish other developers could steal their character creator.

To answer your question, though, mine nearly always have brunette or black hair. In SR3, black with purple streaks.
