After finishing up my last run-through of DA:2, I pretty much boxed up the game with little interest to play it anymore.  Shortly thereafter, I had to reformat my system and lost my saved files (/sigh).  However, after watching Dawn of the Seeker last week and then all the info that came out of E3, I’ve had this crazy desire to replay DA:2 and get my perfect save file back again.  I was wondering, have any of you caught the Dragon Age craze again already?

It’s kind of sad but I actually spent about 3 hours last night downloading DLC, graphic enhancements, mods, etc just so I can make it a perfect as possible.  I’ve forgotten how great this game really was!  Some of those dialog options with FemHawke and Carver are just priceless.  She can be such a @itch to him at times…

Yes. I had forgotten how slowly one levels up in DA2 after coming back from Dragon's Dogma:DA and Dead Island Riptide.

I feel obliged to have a separate playthrough of DA2 for every "main" playthrough of DAO. Which means 4 or 5 of each all in all. Finished 4x DAO, 2xDA2. I don't know yet if I can bring myself to do the rest of the DA2 playthroughs. Damned DA2 combat. Isn't there a "reduce all combat encounters to one wave at no cost to XP" mod?

I'm replaying DA:O to refresh my memory. I'm trying different stuff. Got one new Hawke started. Hopefully we will learn more in the next month.

Since I'm basically free this summer, I think it might be worth a shot. I have others games to get to first (still haven't played past the first 30 minutes of Tomb Raider!).

Yeah, I have too cause I didn't like XBox One'#s restrictions so bought it all again on PC.
And now they've taken out those restrictions... Jerks.

What Inquisition news did I miss that was so great? All I've seen so far is the trailer.

I'm actually really tempted to replay Dragon Age: Origins. But I have a strong aversion to playing Dragon Age 2. It's just full of so much disappointment. I can't bring myself to get railroaded by Act 3 again.

Ya, I recently started a Fem Hawke play through, mostly cause I like a lot of variety in my characters between game titles.

But those are the same restrictions that PC games have.

i play both DAO and DA2 still hoping for some more news about DAI though to me that trailer didnt really say much apart from the world looking like its coming to and end.. i really hope that BW releases more info then that even if its still in development the waiting till next year is very painful, at least give us more to "chew" on

I'm working my way through two new complete playthroughs (DAO + DAA + All DLCs, then DA2 + DLCs). Finished DAO for both, so now it's on to DA2.

One of them is a "loner" playthrough, in which I kill or ostracize all of my companions. Worked great in DA:O. Very weird, though. Just before the final battle, at Redcliff, there's that room with all your companions (except Alistair/Loghain, who is upstairs with Riordan).

It was just Bodhan and Sandal. Very eerie feeling.

Now that would be eerie!  I've never tried to deliberately get rid of companions.

I already have my own "canon" save(s) ready to use as the basis for any world end-state imports, and have recently started a new DA:O: playthrough, but not in anticipation of DA:I.  Rather just to try a new mod a friend made.  Not sure if I'll take that Warden all the way through DA:A->GoA->WH.   Also have a default FemHawke who's only into Act II of DA2.  Might finish with that one when it gets a little closer to "Fall 2014".

Started a replay of DA:O, then going to work through DA:2. Since we're still a year out I may go through them both again....or do another run through of the ME trilogy.

That just means you have plenty of time to get the perfect saved files ready to transfer over.  I actually try to RP the character I've created and then act based upon how my character would mostly likely respond to the situaton.  It just makes the story so much more interesting as you get a more active role in what's going on.  I'll post up a shot of Rayne Hawke later but so far, I'm surprised on how many little things I missed when I first played this game.

I'd been thinking about it. But I never could get past that boss in the Deep Roads. Did every mission and got prepared before hand, didn't matter it destroyed me.
What would be the best set up to go through another playthrough, especially if I wanted to get past that thing? I'd hate to let one single boss fight continue to prevent me from finishing off Hawke's story if I tried again, and prevent me from getting a good start to Inquisition.

If anyone is curious on how to get a Companion-Free ending:

Dog - Don't be Human Noble. Kill Dog at Ostagar (or just leave it to die).
Leliana - Leave her in Lothering, or kill her by defiling Urn of Sacred Ashes.
Sten - Leave him in Lothering.
Morrigan - Run her off, and do not do Dark Ritual. For bonus points, do Witch Hunt and stab her.
Zevran - Kill him before he wakes up when you first meet him.
Wynne - Kill her when you first meet her, or kill her by defiling Urn.
Shale - Leave in Honleath, or bring with you to Anvil of Void and attack Caridan.
Oghren - Get Approval low enough, and he'll leave you (Use Feastday Pranks to simplify this). If the correct dialogue is chosen, you can kill him. (But he still shows up in Awakening).
Alistair/Loghain: Kill one at the Landsmeet, let the other sacrifice self to the Archdemon.

I haven't done Awakenings yet, so I don't know for sure. But I can guess:

Nathaniel - Have him executed immediately.
Anders - Turn over to Templar.
Sigrun - Encourage her to return to the Deep Roads after killing Broodmothers.
Velana - Not sure. Probably have the option to not recruit her, or send her away after Silverite Mines.
Justice - Not sure. Probably have option to request he go away.
Oghren - No idea at all. That drunkard is hard to get rid of.

It's too soon for me. With a year and a half to wait (yawn), I'll be occupying my time with other games, and possibly very large amounts of The Elder Scrolls Online.

I'll probably do another run of DA2 around September of next year with yet another snarky FemHawke. :)

Just did a no Mage run of DA2. I have a human Mage in DAO on the Mac, and a DA2 spirit/force Mage on the Xbox about ready for the deep roads. So yes, I'm currently enjoying the DA universe again.

You talk like we've learned soooo much in the last ten days.

Don't get me wrong, what we have learned learned is still enough to make me giddy. But I won't fool myself into thinking that I have any substantial amount of knowledge about the game.

As for replaying DA2, I've been doing that, on and off, since it's release. DAO as well, for that matter. I don't think that will change.

No, and what about "all this great news". We've barely heard any real info about tha game yet.
