Are you replaying DA:2 after all this great news about DA:I?

I didn't use to have a very high opinion of DA2, but now that I'm used to the hordes of enemies dropping from the sky and the reuse of maps, it's shaping up.

Actually my Awakening disc was fubar so just grabbed the DA Ultimate Edition which also got me a few DLC I had not bought yet.

No, I'd rather watch paint dry than play DA 2 again.
Fortunately there's DA:O though, which I will most likely play through a couple more times.

As much as I enjoyed the teaser, we really don't know much more than we did before E3. Perhaps once we get more info I will feel inspired to start a new game.
We know that the graphics and animation is far superior than anything BioWare has done yet. We also now have a confirmed date even though it's a good ways off.

This mindset bothers me. In 2014 good graphics and animations should be so typical and expected that it's almost mundane. We've had 7 years of graphics driving the industry and it has suffered terribly for it. In 2014, the only thing that will impress me is good, tactical gameplay.

Replaying DAO however has reminded me just how much I missed this game and how sucky DA2 is in comparison IMO.

Every time I play, though, I like the game a little more. For example, snarky Jo Wyatt is quite fun. Maybe knowing the game's shortcomings helps me overlook them in favor of the better aspects.

Damned DA2 combat. Isn't there a "reduce all combat encounters to one wave at no cost to XP" mod?
I agree. The wave combat was so annoying (played on Hard). I wish the enemies were more complex, tactical, had higher HP bars, whatever - just no enemies falling out of the sky! It's not that it was too easy - I could have turned it up to Nightmare; rather, it was too boring. For all the fast pacing, flashy skills, etc., the wave combat makes for very dull battles.
I know Corypheus was a DLC "Big Bad," but more battles with that kind of ingenuity would have made for a more exciting gaming experience.

I have one save of DA2 with the importing of my main Warden, the female City Elf. not plotting on making another. even if I'd like to have a save with the import of my secondary warden, a castless dwarf with the Morrigan romance. but playng again DA2 is too much suffering.
so I guess I'd just play DA:O with the mods, and maybe I'll finish a save I had on the PS3 with a psicopath Warden Elf Blood mage. just to have a "bad guy" save.
but I'm not making a great deal about the import, since I still don't think I will buy DAI. for now I still have to see a feature that will make me forgive the game about the lack of playable races.
