I am a proud yet depressed owner of the 4-in-1 Baldur's Gate boxset. I installed baldur's gate 1, then 2, in hopes of installing the Easy Tutu mod. Well, I find out that I need tales of the sword coast installed, so I attempt to install. It doesn't run. It opens up to the first menu. I click on install, and I can hear the disc spinning a little, and about ten seconds later, the sound stops, and nothing happens.
I looked it up online, and somebody had a similar issue on another forum. One reply was to uninstall and reinstall both baldur's gate 1 and TotSC. That, to me, didn't seem like it could do any harm! Right?
Well, long story short it uninstalled and NOW, BG1 won't run just like TotSC wouldn't run. May somebody assist me? I don't know much about computers, really, but I have a Windows 8. Thats really all I know. And my Baldur's Gate 2 runs just fine, if that gives anybody a reference. Thank you!

It sounds like you've got the same problem as on this thread - http://social.biowar.../index/16900876
The issue could be that you have other programmes running that are using the same resources that the installation programme wants and thus preventing it from starting properly. Try re-starting your computer in safe mode and installing then.

Thank you! I did restart my computer, and it did allow me to install Baldur's Gate. However, the original problem is once again present. TotSC is still not installing. Now, I don't think I restarted the computer on safe mode, so I will give that a shot, and see what happens!

I had the same problem and could only get it to work if I installed in a different location, why I have no idea, but it worked.
