I don't really care that the scene ends and Shepard is outside the apartment.

It's not that it ends, it's that it ends in such an abrupt and jarring manner, and unlike the ME1 characters, you can't go back and talk to Miranda again. She also doesn't get any pillow talk like the ME1/crew romances do.

Apparently its some sort of big deal to you?

Yes. For something known as "romance" content, it feels kind of f**king impersonal.

There's romance dialogue in every scene with Miranda.

I was not of the mindset that quantity = quality.

I like the apartment scene, I like the scene in Sanctuary, and I like the "come find me" bit at the F.O.B during Priority Earth.

Shame that all of those scenes minus the final one are afflicted by either Shepard or Miranda acting like idiots (or a combination of both).

I agree, I never liked Miranda too much, but she desrves better romance dialogue.

I want to do the Tali and Jack romances but I'd have to play man Shep to do it. Not sure if I'm up to that for all 3 games yet.

It'll actually make you appreciate Mark Meer quite a bit if you play all three back-to-back, because he progressively gets (much) better as the series moves forward.

I personaly liked the romance with Tali in the Rannoch arc.

I just finished hers last night. Pleasantly surprised. I expected hers to be the worst because of all the rage over the "Google Image". But her romance is one of my favorites.

The image itself was good, but the photoshop was terrible and it was a pity, that we didn't get to see her face ingame.

Still, best romance. Especially her citadel dialogue.

I would've preferred they didn't show it at all (Photo or In-game). Though, if they were going to show it, it should've been in-game during the High EMS Destroy ending when she doesn't put Shepards plaque on the memorial wall. She could've taken her mask off and looked to the sky. That would've been sweet.

The way I see it, if you like Tali by the time ME3 rolls around....it isn't because of her face, or what she looks like. It's because of who she is.

That being said, I don't think the photo takes away from all the great dialogue/moments between them.

I was thinking the same thing before release. It would be nice to leave it to the imagination.

Did the Tali-mance vary a lot depending if Shep was renegade or paragon?

yes, the imagination is a wonderful thing. Nothing wrong with a little mysteriousness.

I'm not sure how much it varies. I've only done her romance while being a Renegade. (I destroyed the Geth and was generally distrustful of synthetics throughout the playthrough)

Broshep also has a better run animation.

Very nice OP!

I just started my first playthrough as FemShep on my new PC. It is a nice change that makes the experience feel new. I played Mass Effect with MaleShep 12 times, and now it feels like a whole new experience.

I can't wait to try the romances out. :D

I believe there were many that said the ME2 romances got shafted in ME3.

I didn't think so....

Well, Garrus and Tali were the two ME2 romances that did not get shafted, by viture of being squadmates in 3 .

Jack and Miranda got shafted pre Citadel DLC, but after that DLC (which gave two romance scenes each) it make up for it. Thane got a bit of love in the Citadel DLC too, but he well died. And Jacob....well hes a jerk and no one cares about him anyways.

This. His voice acting is kinda flat and not very good in ME1. In ME2 it gets a lot better, though Hale's is still a bit better over all. By ME3 his voice acting is honestly, while different in terms of his inflection and style, around the same level as Hales (with a few scenes like the final line of the Citadel DLC where he delivers the lines a bit better then she did)

Looking
at it that way, the photo was better. Of course it's not about her face and it's clear anyway how Quarians look like without the suits, but  many(including me) would've still been pretty dissapointed if they never revealed her face.

Tali was always my favourite character in  the game, I was already dissapointed, when I found out you couldn't romance her back in ME1.

She was probably underage in ME1. :X

She was 22. In ME3 she's 24.

I would consider to be a bit inappropriate purely because she was on her pilgrimage. Probably not enough reason to stop people but it was with
me.

Agreed, the fact she was on her Pilgrimage basically meant she was a child in the quarian culture.

Also just because being 22 means a human is of legal age it might not be for a quarian. Its not like every single alien speicies would reach  adulthood at the same rate; so for all we know quarians could take a bit longer to reach adulthood than humans do.

Meer's almost a different person in ME3. Fits the a tougher space marine vibe. He was kind of "nasally" in ME1. Although it could be his native Canadian accent.

Anyways, I like Jack and Miranda. They're cool women. Partners in crime. I can kind of ignore any cheesy sensitive dialogue if I romance them. Liara's probably the nicest person in the series, and has a lot of content, but it grates on me. Sorry.. What can I say. If anything, she makes a nice moral compass for my Shep. In a recent playthrough, I was determined to finally rid of the rachni queen, and somehow, Liara in all her magical etherealness made me not do it and rethink my game.

You must not have talked to any of the Jacobmancers or Thanemancers then.

Though I don't feel as bad for the Thanemancers because when you romance a guy that says he has a terminal illness, what do you expect is going to happen? He is going to magically get better and you two will run off into the sunset? Though I have heard a rumor that space magic fixes everything.

The best of Meer in ME1 is hanging up on the council.

Councilor: "Did you need to contact us just so you could hang up again?"

Shepard: "You know it."

Or the classic "Whoops!", the single best line of ME1.

someone romanced Jacob?!

No, for real though....I would've been pissed had my love interest was just like "yeah, I found someone else". Then again, maybe Bioware specifically chose Jacob for that type of thing because the least amount of people romanced him?

Agreed on the whole Thane thing. The guy was a dead man walking from the moment we meet him.

I'm fairly certain BioWare treated the Jacob romance the way they did to demonstrate that the squadmates are not hopelessly dependent on Shepard.

They actually stated (Patrick I think?) that they forgot he was an LI same with Thane, I think

There are a lot of things that I wished that I'd gotten for the romance I did (Ashley) but that doesn't mean I never enjoyed what the game did do with it.

Also, how could they have forgotten that Thane or Jacob were love interests? They have romance specific content.

Seems like Dragon Age has a similar issue. I guess it's a Bioware thing.
