Exactly!  But at what point do you realize that it is just people hating for the sake of hating vs. genuine people with realistic issues with the game at hand?

Personally? Immediately.

However, I think most people don't, and it is impossible to educate everyone on the internet to that fact.

this. the lack of playable backgrounds and races is already a step back from Origins. if those two elements where back, than there is a small chance for the game to be better. but the icos for demented and retarded are a let down too.

I hope Bioware give the task of making a better game than DAO a good crack, at the very least. Even if they fail, the result should still be an excellent game.

I'm cautiously optimistic. I'm also heavily medicated.

I'd boycott Bioware games as will my future descendants until the world is broken and remade in form.

I'm sure the DAO forumites will prevent any possibility of people liking DAI more then DAO.

That said, I'm 100% sure that if they get the gameplay right, the rest will be fine, too.

I'd be shocked but incredibly impressed. Origins might be my favorite game ever as it is, so it'd be great!

then people wil like the game and congrate BW for making a great game.

Then after time it takes to beat it or someone to get confusded and then they will start comlpaining why A was reconted, Why B doesn't make sense, why X person did this, or why Y person did that. And then "How stupid can Z person be" Then people will start tearing apart the story piece by piece and start refuring to TVtropes as to why things are that way, then once everyone else is done they will zelot defend BW, or Zelot attack BW.

So it will be like what? Monday?

I'd be ecstatic that it did it's job. Hopefully I'll be able to finish this game happily instead of leaving for a month & forcing myself to finish like I did with DA2. I have a feeling this game will be great though.

I expect the game to be better than DA2 for sure and maybe as good as DAO.

I'll be incredibly happy because DA:O is one of my favorite RPG's of all time next to the fallout series bar 3.

Then I'd champion this game from the rooftops & praise David, Mike & Mark as the Messiah's of game design.

Seriously though, with the increase in dev time I'm expecting it to be better than DAO, which would make it the best game Bio has ever made IMO.

But I'll be watching the game pre release under a micro-scope as to how they implement primary role-playing mechanics like the Dialogue wheel & how we interact with our follower's with all the other good stuff.

DA2 was a let down & ME3 was the most disappointing (Not the worst) game I've ever played so it would be great if they could top DAO, their best game moving forward into Next Gen.

Since different people tend to like different things the most likely thing to happen is that a few people will think DA:I is a great game that puts DA:O to shame, some will think it stinks like ten day old sweaty socks, while the majority of the gamers fall somewhere in between.

Dragon Age Origins was a good game because it surprised everyone. The world and the lore were made for DA:O.
Inquisition won't be as surprising; you know a lot about Thedas, you know every character we've seen in the trailer so far (except the angry Kossith)... I think DA:I can be better than DA:O by adding some gameplay changes. Frostbite 3 is made for that, I really hope we'll see some nice things, story and lore apart.

What I fear most after the trailer is fanservice. I don't know if this trailer could have been promising, interesting or exciting for someone who doesn't know Dragon Age. So squeeee Dragons, squeeee Wardens, squeeeee Varric, squeeee Morrigan, etc.
I am worried they're afraid of making something different now (I liked the idea behind a "political" plot between mages and templars in DA2, I liked the fact they tried to make a different ending for ME3 - but they did it badly for both games.
I need to feel DA:I is a new & unique game. I don't want cameos of past characters every 5 secs, I don't want to gather armies to kill an ancient evil, I don't want private jokes (calibrations) every time. I want something fresh, not something uninspired and "comforting".

I hope it is. I love the Dragon Age series and want to see it keep going. And I want it to stay fresh.

+1

That does not mean I don't have my doubts.  It does not mean Im gonna go crazy and preorder and buy it day one.  But although I feel I have been disappointed in the past that does not mean I don't want it to be great.  Quite frankly I have been doing a lot of work lately because I have no game I want to play.  I am working on my free time. I want to play a game I can lose myself in.  I love Skyrim and its mods but it is soulless and after about an hour I'm bored.

I honestly wish I could erase my memory of DAO so I could replay it with fresh eyes as I was in love with that game for 3 years. ME2 sat unused on my shelf for I think an entire year before I cracked it open to play on my Xbox.  Loved it so much I bought a 2nd copy for my PC. So I am hopeing that DA:I will be the best in the series. It's certainly pretty to look at given the trailer we got and it has Varric in it which is +25 for awesome. So while I will wait probably a year after release before I decide to gt it or not I am hoping it will surpass DAO.

Not possible, but I do suspect it to be better than at least DA2.

Hmm, I personally don't like Origins all that much... Must be the fact that I suck at RPGs that are not of the action variety... Although, I'll admit that I loved being a jerk in Origins...

Ah, my snarky mage human person... Good times! Doing things like getting power from that... succubus thing... inside that kid... and killing that dwarf who was insane since I hate helping those that don't listen... and I believe I destroyed the dwarf kingdom, due to my bad choice of who should lead... and I got Alister to become a drunk... Yep! Good times! I should go back and finish my snarky elf rogue playthrough... Going to have revenge on those noble humans for their injustice on my people!

Wait, I went off topic, a bit... Well, improved controls, and results for things I did throughout the game would make the game better than Origins! Well, keeping an Origin story would be cool, as well, even if I only play as a human... I can live without it, though.

These truths Bioware has revealed to me:
As there is but one world,
One life, one death, there is
But one game, and It is Dragon Age:Origins.
They are sinners, who have given their love
To false games..

Race options was our own fault:
Human was the most used race by far on Origins (Roughly an 80% of players).

I never really understood that statistic. It's not like 80% played human ONLY. I played a HN of each gender to see all origins, endings, and what would be different but I played at least 25 elves and dwarves yet I am counted in that 80%? :(
