DAO's direction was perfect. If they implement some clap from DA2(mostly things from Mass Effect. They are like cancer in fantasy universe.), DAI will never top DAO.

It would take a miracle in my opinion, however I enjoy being proved wrong. I have every faith in BioWare to make a great DA game, but better than DAO?

If they manage to pull it off, I'll change my avatar.

There are so many stupid things about DA:I that have already been officially annouced that make it nigh impossible for it to get anywhere near DA:O...

Really? What are these "stupid" things? And why are they stupid instead of just not to your liking?

"Better than Orgins", ha! Some of you tickle me pink.

Origins wasn't all that.

I loved the game, but there were some things that bugged me to no end.
The oversized hands
The mechanics (most leveling and items scaling)

Can DA:I do better? Dunno. Possible. But I doubt it.
Talking from a purely subjective standpoint I do not like where the world is heading.

People would just have to stick to complaining that it's not as good as Baldur's Gate, then.

If I can role play effectively in DAI, in more ways than in origins then it will be better, the only reasons I play these games is for the story and rp, sure having nice combat and graphics are good, but that dose not matter to me that much

Agreed and furthermore would Marvin_Arnold care to actual tell us the stupid things, as fair enough if you dont like something but dont leave us in suspense at what it actual is. Also as leldra2 points out you must consider that your absolute statement is weak as it is based on your subjective point of view clearly.

I fully expect DA:I to be 'better' than DA:O. Don't get me wrong, Origins was a great, long, deep and immersive RPG, but there were several things that needed to be improved in a sequel (in my own opinion that is), like combat, voiced protagonist and (now today) outdated graphics. I guess if race selection and a silent protagonist is super important to you then you'll never get over it no matter how good the game in itself is.

I'm looking forward to DA:I. Nuff said.

It's a matter of opinion.

Personally I found the trailer to be overly bombastic nonsensical speeches, dramatic music, lingering shots of death and despair along with characters looking moody, and the narrator insisting that the faith of the world lies in the player character hands (once again).

That's the impression I got, and while I myself don't consider it stupid in anyway, I still see it as a another (possible) "cliche entry" into the BioWare series.

The trailer mostly made me think how badly it was trying to be Origins.

If it's better than origins, I'll need to use up any and all vacation time that I have.

Edit: and if I have no vacation time for some reason, I guess I'll just have to quit.

Then I'm going to cry even more when I have to go to college at the end of the 2014-2015 school year. I'll cling onto my console, screaming, "I"M NOT LEAVING WITHOUT IIIIIIIIT!!!"

You should consider yourself lucky. College will leave you alot of time to play video/computer-games. Me, I'll have to start working. I'll miss those game-filled college afternoons and evenings. ;)

I doubt my parents will let me bring my Xbox. They wouldn't trust me with it. XD

For me the player mods for DA:O were what kept me going back for more.

They're apparently not going to be supported in DA:I so...

That's fair, but it's also not a criticism that can be made only against DA:I. Even by the time of DA:O, we have KotOR, Jade Empire, BG, NwN, and ME1 all of which deal with a Save the World style plot.

Basically, if you're still into it by the time DA:O hit us, I'm not sure it will be a problem now.

Mods weren't supported for ME or DA2 either, yet they exist.  They're harder to make, but they're still out there in surprising force.

The difference being that the sophistication of said mods devolved rapidly due to Developer choices to the point that ME3 was nearly unmoddable.

With the Frostbite Engine it is likely modding for DAI will more resemble that for ME3 than for Origins or KOTOR.

I'm not your librarian. You can read the official announcements and devs statements yourself.

I guess I'll have to dismiss your opinion as trolling then.

*speaking very slowly*
I do know the announcements, but I have no idea which elements you think are "stupid". In order to have a discussion, I would need to know that.

Exactly what was improved?

In DA2 the combat was HORRIBLE, the graphics were meh (frankly I consider DA:O to be the better looking game) and the voiced protagonists is hardly a pure positive, as it comes with a downside that many consider huge.
