Try using the Reegar on PS3 and you will spend more time being revived than killing enemies. Maybe the combination of a keyboard & mouse along with a frame rate of 60 frames per second allows the Reegar to be good on PC. On console, with a controller, and a frame rate of 30 frames per second (which can drop to 25 and lower at any given moment) the Reegar is a POS.

a) you get your face blown off by the enemy loooong before you get in range to use the gun, or
a teammate kills your target looong before you get in range to use the gun.

Use it on an infiltrator. Or a vanguard. AIU+Reegar is just wicked.

Claymore worship is odd to me, when the Wraith does very comparable damage with lighter weight and an extra shot. Harrier as well, but that comes down to playstyle (I refuse to camp ammo boxes with a weapon).

Exactly. Anybody who expects to perform as such is a moron. Just saying. Both guns are designed for different roles.

In any case, I don't see how the Lancer is overrated. It has decent damage, manageable recoil, and absolutely no ammo is needed for this weapon. This is probably one of the best, if not the best, caster weapon in the game.

We're talking about half of all gold games. Even against Collectors and Reapers it'll flatten spawns of mooks as fast as anything, and it can one clip an Atlas.
