But I've found the Kroguards BC is a means to an end, Kroguards have BC to get to enemies out of range or a shield refill, but otherwise Wraith/melee everything in range. But unlike other vanguards, the Kroguard doesn't use BC offensively the way other Vanguards do.
At least that's my take on using the Kroguard...

My first plat solo map was Vancouver. Giant or Ghost would work just as well for Gold.

Hmm so I will try the bigger maps as most people here have mentioned I thought glacier was the easiest solo map because most people have soloed it in like 18 mins.
That's because they can run from the spawn they just decimated to the next fresh one in 2 seconds. Solo speedrunning isn't what you should be attempting for your first runs (insanitywolf.jpeg). The tactics and builds are different. So pick a large map with lots of room to fall back and always have an escape route planned.

For objectives, don't hesitate to run away if you need to. You have plenty of time to complete them. It's safer to draw the enemies to the other side of the map than to kill them.
Also watch guides on youtube. It really helps.

Currently I get disconnected every 2-3 hours, some of my friends get disconnected twice a game, lol. If you are new to soloing, this it is a very bad time. But still fairly doable.
I recommend White for the Map. Decent kitting, well located ammo boxes and enough closed spaces for you to engage in some CQC - out in the open you will caught in crossfire, better avoid it. Focus on single targets or small groups. If it helps (and it probably will) leave the Primes for last.
Also, I would suggest giving the Krolord at try. Similar play style, Reegar, hit-and-run, always being cautious. The Kroguard is probably more efficient, but having consecutive attempts with him will bore the hell out of you. Besides the Krolord is endlessly more fun, and having fun is what matters.

Sync-killed (by Phantom)? Try Geth (annoying though they are) to avoid this possibilty. And I choose Giant. Hold the LZ for a while, keep your head on a swivel, exit out the back side and down the ladder when it starts getting hot.Jaun Shepard wrote...
Damnit I hate this game had 5 medgels and 4 rockets on wave 7 and I got dced. I resign.
Sounds like you know the classic Kroguard build. Mine is pretty standard. I add the Acolyte for the occasional long-range shield strip:

Oh, that's if I use AP rounds. Other is use the shredder mod + incendiary rds. You have to have some form of armor DR bypass.
Next I'll try a TGI solo.

Which map do you guys think is the best? I'm leaning towards White or Giant.
Firebase White is good for kiting enemies.

What is your exact build? I've used this build when I did Solo Mastery a long time ago.
I run almost the exact same build with the Kroguard but I take power damage over headshots on rank 5 of Krogan Berserker. I also like to use martial artist on rank 5 of Rage but I like to melee.
To the OP, like others have said, you need a bigger map to move around and escape if necessary. Make use of your biotic charge to replenish your shields and definitely go for Geth so you don't get insta-killed. Target Pyros first, then rocket launchers/hunters. Try to avoid the Primes until the end because if you kill one early, another will just spawn.
If you get a mission like scanning 4 objectives, at some point, you'll definitely have to run to the other side of the map, aggro the enemies in that direction, and then run towards the hack. If you're soloing, unless you're an infiltrator, it's very tough to keep enemies off you while scanning on Gold if you don't lure them away first.

Lots of cloaking/kiting.
Took a long time but it was the only way I finally got it done. The best advice from above is to take your time, only take on a few enemy at one time and kite again.

Do it on Giant, use your favorite infiltrator, equip the geth scanner. If you can't clear enemies fast enough, kite a lot and run around. The easiest way to solo is to take your time and only engage when you are safe to do so.

This definitely is the most solid strategy I've seen
here, and when I finally do attempt to solo Gold, it'll
be with this set-up.
EDIT: I'd be using this build most likely.

Pure shields and dr.
Use cyclonic 4.
The gear that gives extra medigels.
Use incendiary 4.
