Poll time! Did not include the "joke" alternatives such as reapers, hanar, volus, collectors, etc.. cause that would unfortunately skew the results, and i think its almost guaranteed that they wont actually let us play as any of them.

I know they're not an option, but the raloi. This avian-described race was merely hinted toward. What better way to introduce them than to play from their perspective? Would be interesting.

Geth.

Imagine just how incredibly weird that game would be.

Oh wait.. no, they now are true AIs.

:(

Then Human.

Quarian duh. Would be kinda dissapointing though, to create a character model only to have him/her walk around in a suit throughout 90% of the game.

Depending on your ending, the Geth might've upgraded the Quarian immune system to such an extent that they wouldn't need their suits anymore.

but given the fact that most people here find destroy the most logical (and humane... wtf...) ending, probably not.

They can bolster the Quarian immune system, but not to such a large extent. Also, the suits do provide great benefits, they are protective, gas and acid resistent.

well it doesnt give one man the power to destroy an entire galaxy nor does it forcibly mutate the dna of every living thing, so yeh, it kinda is the most humane

How does the humaneness (humanity?) of anything come into play if the situation is:

everybody dies vs a large portion of life sustains.

Also, in destroy, you destroy all the Geth.

And I consider the Geth alive by that stage in the game.

Why no Volus? I want to fight my enemies economically. It is how I win 4X games. Volus mob boss expanding his empire. Has to maintain team loyalty.

In the next game, we should be able to play as as Vorlon Bankfein, head of the Goldman Sachs clan. We could sanction our enemies and close their bank accounts.

Humans.

I want to drink the tears of people who cry that all humans are boring and that only aliens can be interesting.

Human of course. I am human: it is the species I can connect to the most.

Team Dextro must be conquering France in rage over the sheer idea that turian/quarian not be playable in the next Mass Effect.

Drell, because they're so much fun to play in MP.

Edit:  Also, their voices would be well-suited for some sort of noir genre story.  Think of Max Payne, but with Thane instead!  :D
