Hey so i started fairly late to ME3 MP... and i want to be able to play with some kits more reliant on weapons for gold/plat.. currently i run just Fury.. slayer.. Huntress who are more power based..

Currently i have all my common maxed..

my uncommon is maybe 2-3 for each weapon

I have most rares at 1.. highest is reegar at 3..

And have quite a few URs.. but missing the main ones.. acoylte.. javelin... harrier  

I am wondering if i should just start buying veteran packs? currently i run gold.. so can get near 5 packs per run..

Once i maxed out my uncommons? i should start getting rares right? from veteran packs? 

Also how do the character bits work? once i max rares? will i still get them in packs? for the exp like i do for the common ones? will be quite annoying for me when i am trying to get the last few kits.. Kroguard.. N7 paladin,, Valkyrie.. some of the best characters

Max out your uncommons by using your veterans packs(you'll max alot of weaopns mods and gearmods as a bonus) Then It's all about either PSP or Arsenal packs. Once you max rares on characters you stop getting them except for the commons(which you'll get in recruit packs. Currently working on my N7 challenge Gods help me.).

I'm in the same boat as you pretty much. For some reason I ignored multiplayer for a long time, only really started playing it after finishing Insanity, and even then it took me until about a month ago to really get into it.

I'm proficient at the game and I've reached the point where silver is boring but level 1 or 2 weapons and gear are letting me down in terms of running gold solo or with bad pugs, and I'm starting to question how long its gonna take to actually get a build worthy of plat or gold solo.

Hopefully before they shut the servers down :/

find 3 friends beat platinum 9/10 times buy sps not psps once your uncommons are maxed. Easy way to farm platinum is with 4 biotics and hold an area. Takes 22-26 minutes on most maps then as your manifest grows you can try out other kits.

I play ps3.. and most people i know don't play ME3 so its hard to do plat.. done it with a pug before thats it

Yeah.. its not like i haven't gone through much play time either.. like i said i have many of the characters barring a few.. most appearence unlocks.. because i was buying reserves packs mainly..

God knows how i see some people with fully maxed URs.. i play a lot but just dont see it happening anytime soon if at all ;x

Some people find that they get more UR's out of SPs Than PSPs. I know I had that happening for a while.

I'll try to answer your questions OP.
I would keep buying veteran packs until you've maxed your uncommon weapon mods (these can make a huge difference).
Once you max your uncommon weapons then veteran packs will only give you an uncommon consumable instead - not rare weapons unfortunately.
Once you max the appearance options for your rare characters you'll no longer get them in packs.

If you want to add me then I'd gladly help you out through some gold games to fill your manifest quicker. My psn id is the same as here.

Acolyte is not an UR.
Save up your credits, buy PSP/RP/AP's in bulk.
Play as much plat as you can, yes with pugs as well.

I stopped buying psps after an 8 million drought with them since then longest dry spell was 2-3 million and I was typically getting 1 ur per 8-900k buying them plus the only difference between psp and sp is 1 more small chance at ur sps give you more lvl 3 gear to use in the long run.

This is really bad advice. Sorry Reizo but it is. Pisses me off when people whine about not having good weapons and they pull this crap.

What exactly is bad about it? I'm at 460hours and I only have a couple of UR's left; the faster you start playing (and completing) plats, the faster you'll finish your manifest.
Since he also mentioned he has quite a bit of UR's already, he should just use them to get the tasty credits.

Once it's time to upgrade your ur's, things will slow down to a drunk stuper. The drop rates are horrible.

Keep buying veteran packs until all your uncommons are maxed out then buy arsenal packs until all your rares, equipment and weapon mods are maxed out. Then, take your pick out of SP's, RP's or PSP's to max out your ultra rares. Good luck with that though as the ultra rare drop rate is simply atrocious, I've played around two and a half thousand games and around seven hundred and fifty hours play time and still need another seventy nine ultra rare upgrades (I still haven't even unlocked the paladin heavy pistol at all), I play mainly gold though!
