What are your thoughts about coop?
Baldur's Gate, Icewind Dale, Diablo, Neverwinter Nights... And BioWare already thought recently about coop in dialogs with SWTOR.

Again, it has to stay classy.

BioWare are making a hudge focus on customization. I really hope customization isn't there to justify a store where you can buy accessories...

Yes but I think I'd prefer it in the form of co op campaign than horde style matches like in ME3. If they do implement it leave it separate from the sp, don't have it linked to the sp like ME3 did with the war assets/galactic readiness stuff.

This could be interesting if it's done as a side mission.  You might be "the" Inquisitor in the main story, but in MP side missions, you team up with other Inquisitors (players) to take on additional challenges.  If MP results affect the SP, they ONLY affect it positively; none of the crap in ME3 where you had to get 100% galactic readiness with MP.  I'd be ok with that.

I'm not fundamentally opposed to MP, and I did find ME3's MP fun; I probably spent more time on it than I did on the single-player campaign.  The problem is that the increased focus on gameplay and polish benefited the SP's shooting mechanics while robbing it of its roleplaying depth.  And that's kind of the point of an RPG for me :(

Like a social network tie-in?  Or a sharing system that's actually part of the base game?

I like this idea a lot, especially since I always end up with a bunch of crap I don't use in RPGs.  But it's something that could be easily abused, either on the part of the players, or EA-side with microtransactions tied in.

In fact, I'm thinking of something which pleases me better than that: give the full control of one of your companion to another player in the full campaign. He can fight with you, explore different part of the area with or without you, and choose some lines of dialog from time to time (see SWTOR for that). When your friend leaves, your companion is controlled by the AI again. Or you can give your friend the control of 2 of your companions, etc.
Maybe you can be able to recruit a "companion" in your armies, only playable as a co-op character (look at pawns in Dragon Dogma).

@lizkimo @BioMarkDarrah I love ME3 MP too! No plans for #Inquisition at this time - very focused on the SP currently; it needs to be great

It's somewhat ambiguous, but it seems like Bioware is not planning to include multiplayer in DA:I - either that, or it's not a major focus currently.

Totally against MP, especially if it's an afterthought and not one of the main features since the beginning of the project.

Too soon to say anything about this yet since MP can have different forms. I have little interest in MP personally and I won't mind it as long as it doesn't have content you don't get in SP.

I enjoy playing MMOs as well as SP games, and for something like Dragon Age it's SP I'm interested in. Playing SP games is to me similar to reading a book, and I find it distracting and disturbing to have to deal with other people at the same time as I play that kind of games.

Yeah, it's kind of weird crossing the streams.  There's a lot of effort to bring multiplayer and social elements to gaming, and while I'm all for being sociable, sometimes I just want to sit down and tune everything else out.

In addition, sloppy and tacked-on MP (ie; the egregiously awful MP on Spec Ops: The Line) is basically game cancer.

My opinion on multiplayer can best be described as "towering indifference", so long as it doesn't impinge on the single player campaign in any way, shape or form.

ME is a completly diffrent game and from what i heard it was kind of a shotter game of sorts  so ofc it did well as a MP

You've never even played ME, so how could you tell if it would fit with MP or not?

The view for MP in ME3 before it was released was overwhelmingly negative, then people enjoyed it after it came out.

People were forced to play MP when the game came out, since you couldn`t get the "perfect" ending in SP without playing MP. After MP became a "huge success" because of this, they patched the game and made it possible to play SP without it being influenced by the MP mode.

Considering the 'perfect' ending was the addition of an easter egg for a single route that much of the fan base spent trying to dismiss, that's a bit of a strech for either the idea of 'forcing' or 'perfect'.

So is the conclusion that multiplayer was a huge success simply because of that easter egg, since getting the easter egg alone wouldn't warrant the amount of time and reviews that people gave the multiplayer.

Will it just be wave and waves of enemies on boring maps?

I wouldn't mind a multiplayer option, Mass Effect 3's version was surprisingly a good implementation.

all I ask of Bioware is to not forget that Dragon age is at its core a single player game, so don't make it necessary to play multiplayer in order to play the single player campaign. And yes, I know you didn't necessarily had to in ME3, but it had way too much impact on the single player campaign. Make them entirely unreleated please.

If it effects the single player campaign or is part of it :S , then NO!

If they are taking time or money away from developing the main game to add multiplayerr then NO

If it is ****ty then NO/ I don't really care.

If It's actually fun and interesting multiplayer that might be worth playing and doesn't do either of my first 2 points then sure.

But I don't really care about Multiplayer anyway.

If they can make a SP game as crammed with content as BG2, where it takes 50+ hours to play through it all (without DLC)  I'll withdraw my objections.

Bah, they were saying the exact same stuff about ME3, right up until the day multiplayer was leaked.

Prefer single player and MP is good ONLY if it doesn't affect SP. (one of the things that annoyed me with ME3).

I support it. They need to separate it completely from SP, for sure, and it would have to work differently mechanics wise, just as ME3 multiplayer is different from the singleplayer, but it could be wonderful.

I maintain - we should get a co-op dungeon crawler like Diablo or Gauntlet. Could be fantastic.

Against it, but I know it's happening since EA cares not. No point arguing over the inevitable.

MP would be fine depending on how it will be implemented. If so, it shouldn't weigh heavily on the Single Player aspect of the game.

If ever it would be like the MP in ME3, it's OK. I really don't like the idea of having PvP.

I'm against it. I want all the attention on the main campain. I don't care if it's 2 teams working on both parts-it's clear most of the time and money was put into Mass Effect 3's microtransation machine.

But there's no such an option in your poll.

What type of MP you would like and wouldn't  like would be a seperate poll. The purpose of this poll is to see how many supporters and detractors there are of MP as a whole.
